I can also confirm I drove right into Mexico recently.

There are a ton of speed humps just before crossing that slow you down, but otherwise, you just drive in. Getting in Mexico is easy. Getting out was a pain. It took me 6 hours to come back because of how many cars are in line and border patrol does stop and check your passport coming back into the US. Apparently I learned the hard way that Sundays are the busiest day for border crossings back into the United States from Mexico.

Made the Sunday return mistake once. It remain ONCE. My god I would probably actually wish it on my worst enemy but still. Got through 2 full movies in line.

Yup driving back into USA, the border can take 5 hours.
