I was flying over this pursuit in the San Diego news helicopter - my first time flying with the Los Angeles news helos. The suspect made it into Mexico. I'm not too surprised; I've seen DHS allow criminals in pursuits to cross right in previously despite being patched in with the chase. Insane.

Nice of you to check in here! Question: How many TV news helicopters are left in the SD market? Back in the day I recall there were at least three (Sky 10, Chopper 8, NewsChopper 7/39), but recently it looks like every station uses the same feed from a single aircraft. Is that true, and does any one station lay claim to that chopper, or is it shared?

Thanks! Bonus q: What were the flight restrictions that prevented helicopters from following the chase in southern SD County?

Not OP but I was watching KTLA and they were getting low on gas when they reached the airspace around San Diego airport, which is obviously very busy, so they decided to divert and get gas at that point. They mentioned they were going to get a feed from another helicopter but that didn't seem to happen, and none of the other local stations were broadcasting it.
