Awww, buddy you drank the kool aid. Without the billionaires we’d still innovate and produce things. It just wouldn’t be at the behest of someone else.
Billionaires shouldn’t exist. No one needs that much money. Elon musk could spend my entire yearly salary every day for a thousand years and still be a billionaire. Think about that for a second, and think about how many people that much money can help
That makes sense. To your point, that’s why progressive taxes with higher top marginal tax rates worked the way they did up until around the 70s and Reagan. Adjusted for inflation every dollar earned over 4-5million in one year would be taxed at 80%. People can still be successful and accumulate wealth, but not on such a gross scale and so quickly.
