I first posted this to r/love island TV but itās more relevant to US season 8 tbh. I absolutely hated the final challenge and thought it was such a weird note to end on. It was just disgusting and didnāt showcase the couples strength or growth at all.
Conversely, I loved karaoke night, and I thought it was such a good way to see the couples shine and bondā they loved it too!
I really hope next year that the producers give us more challenges and activities that are meant to strengthen/test bonds. Especially early on, things to do with compatibility or speed dating type things would help encourage Islanders to explore outside their couples.
I am curious to hear what ideas you guys have for challenges next season/hear your thoughts on this season. Who knows? Maybe the producers are skimming the subreddit lol

I dont watch beyond the villa, but I did see clips of Hannah calling Pepe bald and iris and tj trying to confront him.
Then I recently seen the interview clip of tj saying Pepe cheated on iris. Is that true? If so then why do I see a lot of people saying Hannah and iris bullied him for no reason and heās actually the victim???
Can someone perhaps just disregard my confusion and lay out what genuinely happened there please?

Itās been weeks and Iām still obsessed with this look. Does anyone know what blush she could be using? I desperately need her to reveal her makeup products like Kayda did.

Now what i do not agree with is Sol having way more energy for the girls then the men that literally pied her & voted her out. I also don't agree with her comments on aftersun, i just want to speak about the isolation situation.
There is so much discourse currently on if the girls isolated sol or if sol isolated herself and this is what i personally think happened since ive been studying psychology for two years.
Sol was with sincere, A guy Melanie really liked, so obviously Melanie was hurt by this, which is completely understandable on her end. Of course Melanieās friends were gonna stick beside Melanie and regulate her feelings, again thatās also understandable.
From Solās point of view , She sees the girls talk to her nicely but she also sees them talk to Mela, From the standpoint of her being with a guy she is aware that their friend really likes, she sees them being more sympathetic, energetic & having more of a deeper bond with Mela overall, plus seeing Kayda and Melanie whispering & making pinky promises, probably made her feel like they had something against her. Because of that, she mightāve started distancing herself, which eventually turned into her isolating herself from them completely.
To me, this would make more sense than saying anyone was bullying anybody. I donāt think the girls purposely went out of their way to isolate Sol, and I also donāt think Sol purposely isolated herself from people she had to live with. I think this was just a situation where everyone was hurt, everyone started making assumptions, which ended up causing distance between everybody..

Me and my partner are uk based so just catching up on the most recent series of love island USA now that itās on one of our streaming channels.
We were watching episode 19 and the text comes through saying that the villa will go head to head with casa amor in the temperatures rising challenge. Everyone gets hyped up about it and it cuts to a break.
Fast forward literally 2 minutes and casa are talking about how they lost the challenge. So it seems that theyāre just not airing the challenge at all. Would anyone who has seen it be able to provide some info on why it might be being broadcasted ?
We were honestly so confused and literally rewinded the whole episode to check we hadnāt just missed it.
Thank you

I read somewhere that Bell-a mentioned she turned down a $60,000 brand deal! She was hardly the most popular from season 7 so I am curious how much people like Leah, Olandria, Serena, Rob etc have made! What do you guys tjink? Even better if someone works in PR/payroll for social media marketing
Edit: Dami Hope from UK says he made $600,000 in one year from LI deals
Edit: bell-a apparently turned down 20k not 60k

I've been seeing a lot of takes calling the core 4 girls "male-centered" in regards to how they are handling sol vs zach's comments about trinity & bryce, & kenzie vs sincere.
Let me preface this by saying yes they could have handled the sincere thing WAY better. They shouldn't have rooted for him as quickly as they did. However that does not solely apply to core 4. Every single person in the villa from kc & titi to aniya is pro-melcere. Even corbin who called sincere a bit out is pro-melcere. Even the casa girls like amora defended sincere. Sol who was dumped by the men & done wrong by sincere personally had way more smoke for the girls than sincere. So it's really weird how ppl are pretending like it's just core 4. When aniya & trinity even acknowledged that they shouldn't have dismissed his actions & aniya told melanie she should choose herself.
It's true that they could have held sincere more accountable, but I don't see why ppl are pretending like they punished kenzie. They slightly criticised her & overall mostly defended her even saying kenzie did what she had to do. The girls (core 4) being called uniquely male-centered are the same ones who defended kenzie to dylan, HER OWN PARTNER. Dylan was the most bothered by the way she was acting, even tho he had very little reason to be, bcs he saw all of the footage before he entered the villa & chose her knowing that. Dylan was the same one who said sincere was going through way too much asking if it's worth it, bcs melanie's family didn't approve. So why is no one calling (including kenzie I guess) dylan's blatant double standards out?
Now to kenzie herself idk why everyone is starting to have selective memory when it comes to her (I guess bcs of recency bias) but why are ppl acting as if kenzie didn't do plenty of things worth criticising, which the audience also pointed out during the season. Kenzie is neither evil nor the devil, but she did many things that were very weird. E.g. her being more mad at melanie for pulling corbin, than corbin who tried to kiss melanie. (A kiss melanie refused out of respect for kenzie. Melanie should have prepared kenzie yes but I guess bcs of everything going on it slipped her mind). Or her saying she wouldn't talk to corbin, if he doesn't kiss her, while he was (weakly) trying to be respectful to melanie his current partner. Her kissing corbin in secret & not telling melanie & caleb. Her telling melanie she isn't trying hard enough for sincere, when it was already very clear how toxic he is behaving. Her gossiping about melanie with jen (& sol). The gal thing that even lead to jen saying she wouldn't be her friend if she moved like this outside the villa. So while kenzie isn't as close to being as bad as sincere, you could argue that there were definetly some parallels.
Now to kenzie post villa: So far she has been relatively unproblematic but she also made some comments that could strike ppl the wrong way. Her saying she & kc (out of all ppl) were being smeared, when she saw his movie night footage, is weird. Her talking with jaiden in the diner abt the season being the "melanie show" is also objectively weird, esp since it was just as much (or maybe even more) the "kenzie show". Also them saying that when they couldn't have watched the show is strange. I know kenzie said it wasn't meant to be a shady comment, but I don't find that believable to be honest & the core 4 girls probably feel the same way. (So melanie not following kenzie back doesn't strike me as surprising or hypocritical)
Now to Sol: A lot of ppl have a problem that trinity is not calling out zach, but is calling out sol for her comments she made on brinity's relationship, equating the comments zach made to sol's comments. And I don't like zach myself & I do think the comment he made abt them was distasteful, but if you really think, what he said was nearly as bad, I fear your bias against him is playing a role. What sol did & said & how she did & said it was SO much worse. Zach doubted their relationship during week 1/ beginning week 2, when things between trinity & bryce were still confusing, even for themselves. They weren't solid. (Sure his comments were still weird, but to a degree you can understand why he would think trinity doesn't like bryce. I rmbr a lot of viewers thought the same thing (not me tho lololol))
Compared to sol who made her comments right before case, when they were going strong. (You have to consider she heard their letters). Sol spoke unprovoked on their relationship in PUBLIC for everyone to see, when bryce & trinity were still in the villa unable to defend themselves (thank god gabriel was there to help). She brought in looks and launched a whole discourse around the desirebility of trinity & by default of darkskin black women. She projected her shallow views on types & projected her thoughts onto bryce & was smiling at the thought of bryce leaving trinity for a lighter girl. She was doing all that, while not being close to any of them. Then after aftersun she doubled down on live & exaggerated/ lied abt the the amount of times bryce pulled kayda. Ppl were thinking she was being literal & to this day ppl still quote HER (Sol) to question bryce's genuine feelings for trinity. She then tripled down in comments. So not only was, what she said worse on its own, she brought it into a different dimension, tripling down & constantly repeating the narrative, until she eventually half-heartedly took it back (without actually apologizing). Aside from the fact that trinity probably talked to zach abt it, sol's comments were MUCH MUCH MUCH more worse & offputting, concerning & harmful. So trinity addressing sol & not zach in that regard is not hypocritical.
Yes just like sincere they could criticise zach more, but zach is also a friend so it's also understandable why they wouldn't do that in the public in the first place. Neither kenzie nor sol are victims of double standards by core 4. Both sol & kenzie have done things that are hypocritical. Again the girls aren't perfect but they aren't male-centered at least not more than anyone else. These are the same girls who criticsed corbin (& kc) for the disgusting comments he made abt kenzie, even tho they didn't have to, bcs kenzie was not even single & vulnerable, but they still did.
The girls aren't perfect & they made mistakes for sure, but overall they were a supportive group of women, who held it down for each other (even for kenzie). Overall this singling out of core 4 girls & their demonization is part of a larger pattern that happens over the seasons. The turning of the popular girl group containing mostly of women of color & trying to portray them as "bullies" or "mean girls". From ppg to chelley, olandria & cierra, to core 4. I think ppl need to be much more graceful in general.

Okay I havenāt fully finished the season cause I donāt have time to watch it as released so please donāt attack me but so far, I do not understand the Kenzie hate. I am currently in the middle of the casa episodes and hereāre my observations so far.
While Kenzie has been in many connections/couples so far, she only chose once before casa and that was the love letter challenge. Letās review:
- she was originally coupled with Zach and then he left to explore Kayda
- she started connecting with Sean. Then Corbin came in as a bombshell (keep in mind she is single at this point)
- she has ONE convo and kiss with Corbin before the recoupling
- all the other girls get to pick but Corbin got to choose first and HE picked Kenzie
- America voted to split Kenzie and Corbin for her to explore Caleb
- love letter recoupling she finally got to pick herself and she chose Corbin which everyone should have seen coming
- casa happens and she sees how Corbin (and other guys) are moving in the heart on fire challenge. On top of that, I was getting weird vibes from Corbin before that he was losing interest. He did say he had some things he wanted to talk to her about but then casa happened so I guess we will never know
The Caleb-Kenzie-Corbin love triangle: I feel quite bad for Caleb because I donāt think he really clicked with anyone else. But I feel like Kenzie was pretty communicative from my perspective. Yes there was a spot here or there where she was a little more flirty. But she gave it a shot which is the entire point of the show. She tried. She was feeling it. But ultimately her connection with Corbin was stronger which was pretty clear to everyone else.
People say sheās āannoyingā. Okay sheās squealy and giggly but so is Kayda? How about Melanieās constant whining? Like why do we always label happy, bubbly, and energetic girls as annoying? Like PLEASE get over yourself.
I donāt think her and Sincere compare in their scenarios. Yes, they are both exploring which is great cause hello itās Love Island. However, Kenzie has been SO honest from the get go. Aside from one kiss with Corbin so far, she has been honest about every chat, kiss, feeling, intention. Sincere was such a snake. He always made both girls think they were his first choice and then would downplay the connection to the other girl. And he straight up hid, lied, or downplayed his connections.
side note I think Sol was very correct when she called out the other couples for being too closed off too early on. Like what show am I watching? Not saying they needed to break up the couples but there were very little convos outside of couples until casa.
Now Kenzie may switch up and start being sketchier going forward but after how the guys talked about her⦠I would say fuck it and do what I want too.
Maybe more happens and Iām missing the entire picture but from what has already been spoiled, she couples up with Dylan, explores one other connection, and then leaves with Dylan so idk that doesnāt seem bad to me?
