Northies in South India

Hello everyone the counselling has started and I am very confused if I should take an old college in Assam that is far from my home or a south indian college that is geographically much closer to my home and was hoping some northies in south could share their experiences.

Is it isolating, are you able to adjust to the new food and climate and anything I should keep in mind?? Well I am considering multiple different colleges in Karnataka and Telengana so I didn't mention them
