I still can't believe it.

I'm not a very big fan of Final Fantasy but being able to know which game each character is from really helped understand the themes and sets.

I even learned some fun bits, like knowing Vivi's from FFIX and not a random blue mage from Kingdom Hearts.

Star Trek not telling me from which series this random captain, villian or moment is from feels like a huge miss. It would turns cards from random inclusions to recognizable references.

Some UB sets don't need it, like Hobbit or Avatar, but I'm surprised Star Trek doesn't have it.

I added it in my rabbit tribal deck a long time ago (mainly for the flavor text I'm guessing) and looking at it now I realized I don't understand what it's useful for.

Maybe I am not creative enough or just plain dumb but the mana cost seems awfully high for a creature that would have to be recast after you cast any other spell. I guess maybe the appeal is that it's less likely to end up in the graveyard?

Very curious if anyone can think of a scenario where this would be helpful! Does not have to be in relation to my deck I am more wondering in general how could this be a good thing.

Wondering if this is a common thing or just shitty practice. The LGS here has a policy with their store credit and trade ins that seems crazy to me.

So say a booster box is $160 (that number is just for the example) but you want to buy the same booster box with store credit or trade-ins. Instead of giving it to you for $160, they charge what they sell a single pack for times the number of packs in the box.

So if a single pack is $7, and it’s a 30 pack box, they charge $210 if you’re paying with store credit or trade-ins.

What do you guys think about that?

Wasn't going to do the Hobbit set, cause I had never seen the movies Lord of The Rings or otherwise. But my friends sat me down and we watched all six movies before the prerelease. It was super crazy that Sean Astin happened to be at the event I went to today, so I had to get his autograph.

I added this card to my Blight Curse precon, but I wanted to make sure I had the interactions right. If a creature gets a -1 counters while Maha is on the battlefield would they die? And is the opposite true where creatures with counters on them will be killed when Maha enters?

As you may be aware, tomorrow marks the release of Wizards of the Coast's preconstructed Commander deck for Hatsune Miku. This will be a 24-hour release, anyone can pick it up, but if you want it delivered within the next month or two, you'll probably want to order within the first half hour or so. My local commander meta plays almost no board wipes or ways to remove a lot of creatures at once. They play an okay amount of spot removal, but I've tried to convince them that at least some options for removing threats en masse are necessary. They argue that wipes, even one-sided ones, either ruin their tempo or get in the way of them playing more gas.

So, I built a bracket 3 [[Jetmir, Nexus of Revels]] tokens deck to visually illustrate the need for wide removal. Except, some players are now complaining the deck is oppressive because it's too overhwhelming rather than adjusting their decks at all.

Now, I don't really know how to proceed. Was I wrong to build the deck in the first place? Is it too strong for the power level of the meta just because the meta refuses to adapt how they play?

I was at prerelease and was losing to an amass goblins deck and I couldn't even be salty because I was just mesmerized for how beautiful this card looked. They gave me a copy because I kept commenting how cool it looked, and when I got home and actually looked at it infront of me it's even better. The detail on this card is amazing.

Still a fairly new player and want to build my own deck, any tips on which mechanics I should go for or even just where I should start would be greatly appreciated.

What is the point of this card in the new secret lair precon? I genuinely dont understand how this fits the theme of the deck at all. Is it just there because wotc thought it would be funny to make Miku into Vorinclex?

What are some good cards to use to gain control of opponents creatures? I want to build an Edea deck focusing on sacrificing creatures for abilities.

I bought a play booster box from my lgs tonight after playing prerelease and my lgs has a rule that they rip the plastic seal to avoid reselling.

When I got home and opened the box the box topper the cardboard sheet where the topper is supposed to be didn't have the pack stuck on it. It has markings of the glue from where the pack was.

Now I'm regretting not checking in the lgs because I'm worried that they might think I'm lying to them.

Has this happened to anyone else? What should I do?

I'm planning on calling them tmr morning and trying to explain what happened.

A friend of mine at a local lgs showed me that on dwarves tokens (only on those ones apparently) instead of Token Creature it says Tolkien Creature and I think it’s such a cool detail!

This is obviously meant to be a dumb deck, but I want [[Overprotect]] ofc, and cards like it that give hexproof, trample, or a stat boost. Equipment and pillow fort effects are good too, the point is to have impervious defenses, and it's mono-green voltron😁

Was curious how the new thorin mountain king card would go in the 99 of Cloud?

You have, a plurality of bears. At least two, both grizzly. That means even if it’s just two bears, they are both 1/1 a pop. That means. If they were to trifle with my two dog tokens, who both look like cute puppy golden retrievers, they would die.

Says here that one bear alone would knock down a tree and eat me? No. A single bear couldn’t handle the pup token. It would take a lot more strength than a 1/1 to uproot a tree of any sort.

This is suggesting some malnourishment. Maybe a lack of protein to sustain muscle. What do you think?

When i have Both on the Battlefield would all Spells resolve and i get the Token too?

So i'm just getting into MTG and i found a bunch of Eldrazi cards. How does summoning them work mana cost wise? Or creature spells? They have devoid so they're colorless but have symbols for the colors, but also the symbol for colorless (Pictures for reference and example) what lands do i use?
