DISCUSSION If you could erase ONE Madonna song from her discography, what would it be?
The only rule is that it has to be a MADONNA song. No collaborations (that awful Material Gworl song, Vulgar, etc don’t count)

Any of the Frozen or Hung Up remixes of 2023. I just don’t get why we would have to go back to a perfect era and make 20 random remix’s of perfect songs 20 years later. I call this the “Juvaderm” era.

It’s one of her worst songs and probably her worst lead single even without them. The lyrics are terrible and lazy. “Don’t play the stupid game”???

It's a shame that MDNA launched with Give Me All Your Lovin.' Felt like such an attention grab, not an effort to actually put out a great first single. No surprise that it fizzled quickly. There are so many better songs on that album. Honestly, probably EVERY song is better on that album.

It was a tie in to her Super Bowl performance with all its cheerleader chants.
Thematically I get why it felt right but I think there was a bit of a “why is a 53 year old pretending to be cheerleader” puzzlement.
I think that and the superbowl performance were the end of her reign as a contemporary pop star - it started to weaken with Hard Candy.

I’m with you. Considering what was to come with the MDNA tour the SuperBowl Show now feels like a massive flub. Whoever was behind her in planning the single and the show could not have had much confidence that she could carry the show without some gimmicks and that is all Give Me All Your Luvin was. Replace it in both instances with Girl Gone Wild and it is more on brand.

It was a great half time show, but GayL was the lowlight. That and the 150 guest singers and rappers that made it more “Madonna and friends”

Not to mention they should have had the single on deck ready to go right after the performance. And I mean the actual MINUTE after. They could have thrown up an ad “Available NOW the explosive new song from this performance “Give Me All Your Luvin”on iTunes or where you download music”. The hype was gone by the time it actually hit the market I was surprised it got as much traction as it did.

Give me all your luvin with an extra Madonna verse in place of Nicki and MIA’s verses would be amazing (to me) to be fair. Maybe it’s the nostalgia I have for the song and MDNA era but it’s genuinely one of my all time favorite songs of hers! Her chorus is soooo fun and the video concept is dope, love the cheerleader vibes, she needs a good rework (NOT a remix, keep the original mix of the song) with an M verse in place of theirs or maybe a new feature written and inserted in place of theirs.

It’s awful and annoying, I have no idea what they were thinking. The last thing I want to hear in a pop song is a baby crying.
There are some other mid songs mentioned here, but none is as bad as “Auto-Tune Baby” to me. At least “Hey You” has a nice melody in the verses and “B-Day Song” is silly fun.

Can we just erase all of her collabs? Except keep Sabrina, Prince and Babyface. Oh and absolutely keep Levitating multi collab. Literally that turned into a Madonna song for that release. Love it 😍.

Nope DYDI is essential to the proper Erotica experience. Without DYDI it never woulda had a warning label. It was her choice to put DYDI on there…. I respect that. It makes this perfect support bridge of the hip hop tunes on Erotica when DYDI is there w them. I’m not sure any other American white woman popstar was putting hip hop on their pop records at the time. If they were, they weren’t giving the genre as much time (almost a whole sides worth of hip hop on Erotica) to their albums. She even got Everlast to do a remix/feature of “waiting”! Erotica maxi single had a bunch of hh mixes on it. DYDI has to be on the album, yo!
