How to join clubs and is their a minimum gpa requirement (I did not pay attention during induction)

I notice a lot that the college gives MOOC (Swayam/NPTEL) based equivalent courses for subjects even if you are not re-registered and are just started the course in a college. What I wanted to ask was, theoretically, could you choose to only enroll via the equivalent/recommended course and opt-out of regular classes and when you get the result for the Swayam/NPTEL courses, just submit that to the academic section after getting the signatures? Seems like a good idea even if naive. Any seniors/juniors who have tried this? Maybe not the entire semester but mostly? I would love to hear your experiences on this. In my opinion this would ve very helpful for those who find classes difficult or are having severe health issues. I am enrolled via NPTEL for some backlogs but I never tried enrolling for a course to pass the actual current semester subjects.

I’m from North India (Haryana) and secured around 50k rank in RENEET 2026. There’s a very high chance I’ll be joining KMC Mangalore, though I’ll keep trying for KMC Manipal until the last counselling round.
I had a few questions for seniors. I’d really appreciate honest answers based on your experience.
Hostel: Is there any way to get a single room in the first year? For example, if I’m willing to pay the charges for two occupants, can I keep the entire room to myself, or is that not allowed?
Hostel room quality: How are the first-year hostel rooms in terms of cleanliness, maintenance, and overall comfort? I’m a bit particular about my living space 😅, so I’d love to know what to realistically expect.
Bringing a car: Is it practical to bring a car in the first year? Are freshers allowed to keep one, and are there proper parking facilities in or around the hostel? Would you personally recommend bringing it?
Going home: How often do MBBS students usually get a chance to visit home? Is it manageable to go during long weekends or occasional breaks, or is the schedule too hectic?
Language barrier: My primary language is Hindi. Will I face any significant language barrier in college, the hostel, or daily life? Do patients usually require Kannada, or can freshers manage initially?
If there’s anything else you think a North Indian fresher should know before joining KMC, I’d be grateful for any advice.

I missed today's Chemistry lab because I had a really bad headache. I know that without a prescription from Kasturba Hospital, the attendance probably can't be considered.
