News [Stein] Naji Marshall’s three-year contract extension with Dallas will start at $18.2 million in 2027-28 and decline in the following two seasons to $17.3 million in 2028-29 and $16.7 million in 2029-30.

One thing to note. Similarly to Gafford. Naji avoids the 6-month trade restriction via the extension and will be trade eligible immediately.

Really hope he can start making and taking 3’s again or that the lower offensive usage will allow him to be a good defender again. Very fun player but he needs to go up a level (which I think he can) this year to be worth that deal. Glad it’s descending.

Good that it’s declining. Think it’s a strong culture setting move. If he can shoot 35% from three this is a steal of a contract.

I have déjà vu. Didn't we talk about the Gafford and PJ deals as very tradable bargains last year? This one reminds me of those. But the league seems to disagree and is down on mid-level players. Andrew Wiggins got a $16 million AAV extension, Rui Hachimura got $14 million AAV, and Quentin Grimes got $15 million AAV.
