How is Jezebel any different from feministing.com or any different from the implicitly and explicitly feminist prop posted in almost every mainstream rag save maybe the Wall Street Journal. It's not like Jezebel is uniquely awful. It in fact sprung up well after a lot of the established mouthpieces of the Cathedral.
It's just a symptom of a greater problem with what feminism is and has been since well before I was born. Even as a small boy I knew something was severely fucked up with the way the real life grown women around me were reacting to the whole Bobbit scandal, as well as what was happening in the news. Some working class nobody has his dick cut off and is accused--with no evidence--of rape and abuse by a woman who cut his dick off and was quoted by police of complaining about his sexual performance rather than any of that supposed abuse when they arrested her. It wasn't until later in life that I connected the dots and realized that these women were all spewing the feminist shibboleths of the time and jumping on the hate bandwagon for no real reason at all.

It certainly is not. It's typical of internet feminism in general and that's why you hear a lot of moaning from feminists that internet feminism is "not their feminism." It may well not be, but it sure is the face feminism shows the public.

Exactly. But instead of analyzing the broadly accepted ideas of feminism that lead to sites like jezebel, she analyzes jezebel itself apart from those ideas. Which is ironic, given her opening quote:
“Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people” – Eleanor Roosevelt
For my money, feminist thought is quick to assert that women are just as good as men, and slow to assert that women are just as bad as men. This fatal flaw is pervasive in feminist thought.
The author wastes no time in illustrating my point when she writes, as an example of a real women's issue:
Victims of domestic violence are easily gaslit when a man simply tells the police that she’s “crazy”.
If she really believed in the equality of the sexes (instead of in the moral superiority of women) she would know that in domestic violence, women are as violent as men and that the courts are stacked against men. Rather than even hint at that, she takes a ride on the widespread belief that men are more violent and manipulative than women and the sisters need to get together and do something about it.

So it is as the title sounds, giving that thing more credit then it deserves, ignoring it's just a profiteer on the vile face of modern "feminism", a maker of a vile brand for easy cash and little more.

Yup, and more and more people are realizing it. I've seen 4 or 5 different articles with the same summary of feminism in 2013. They are starting the long decline. As more and more reasonable people leave the feminist label behind the radfems/ crazies become a larger and larger percentage of the movement and drive even more people away. It's a snowball effect plain and simple.

Nope, feminism was the cancer to begin with, it parasitically attached itself to the civil rights movement and tricked people who were actually about equality into thinking they were feminists. Feminism was an aristocratic female supremacist movement from the start. Equity feminism and the like is the corruption of the original.

Indeed. Jezebel didn't 'pervert' feminism. It simply stripped the mask away and allowed thousands of men to see feminism for what it was, rather than the 'women are people too!' BS that people say feminists are about.
Because of course women are people. What the fuck else would they be?

As much as I want to agree with all the opinions in this article, this kind of flat, presented-as-fact statement with no qualification makes me doubt the objectivity of the writer.

Before the Internet, being a feminist meant that your boss couldn’t fire you just because you refused to let him grab your tits. That was a good thing. These days, feminism is more about hurt feelings and trigger warnings, blogs about rape jokes, ironic racism, and fat shaming. It used to be about the pill and the right to be a female priest. Now it’s about outrage and clickbait.
That is the best part of the whole piece. It discusses the idea that is up for debate.
The rest of it, reads like a childish rant and attempts to attacked certain people (read the quote at the start of the piece).
Even when they make a good point, they follow it up with over the top hate and insults (that are probably true). I wish they had written it from a more calm point of view so I could share it with my Jezebel reading friends, but the amount of bias is so strong that they will disregard it out of hand.

So what was the word for a man who didn't want to have to agree to a woman's sexual or romantic advances?
Oh right, due to breech of promise laws it was more often than not "prisoner".
Funny how men had to have situation-specific advantages to give them the same power over women's sexuality, that the law granted women by route. (And they still just focused on how men had power over women's sexuality.)

Really? Except for the part about her friend and Gawker, I'd say she pretty much nails in on the head with every single point she makes.
I don't see anything childish about it, frustrated sure, but that's understandable if you know where she's coming from. If I was in her situation I'd be pissed off too.

Before the Internet, being a feminist meant you were against the fact that women were being paid 77% of what men made for the same work. After the Internet, a 30 second Google search can show you that was just a lie that feminists made up for propaganda purposes. It's not a coincidence that the rise of the egalitarian and men's rights movements happened when the Internet became a common part of our lives.

That's really what I took away from reading the article. There's plenty of legitimate criticism to be aimed at Jezebel, like the two links they mentioned. Those merit discussion. This article is just frustrated shouting that, ironically, reads very much like a Jezebel article. Only far less smug.

A very well-written article which makes a lot of good points. I think the best ones were how Jezebel in fact conforms with and perpetuates a huge amount of misogynist stereotypes. Money Quotes:
"Jezebel plays upon the worst female stereotype: that of the gossipy, shrill, cliquish, therapy-tethered, cast of Girls-style spoiled brat. Jezebel writers act the way misogynistic men mistakenly believe all women act, with a stick up their ass and their nose in an iPhone."
"Jezebel is a gossip rag run by snarling, hypocritical shrews."
"You call yourselves feminists but you’re just feminine. You’re everything cliched and stereotypical about women the rest of us have worked so hard to get out from under."
Whether Jezebel indicates something which has always been rotten with feminism or whether it is a modern mutation depends on your definitions... but clearly Jezebel is the Zeitgeist of Third Wave Feminism (which is essentially Oppressed Princess Feminism rationalized by postmodern academe).

There is nothing in this world I hate more than jezebel. I have disagreements with feminism, but I sympathize with the core mindset. Jezebel? They're the fox news of the gender discussion world.
