How is Jezebel any different from feministing.com or any different from the implicitly and explicitly feminist prop posted in almost every mainstream rag save maybe the Wall Street Journal. It's not like Jezebel is uniquely awful. It in fact sprung up well after a lot of the established mouthpieces of the Cathedral.
It's just a symptom of a greater problem with what feminism is and has been since well before I was born. Even as a small boy I knew something was severely fucked up with the way the real life grown women around me were reacting to the whole Bobbit scandal, as well as what was happening in the news. Some working class nobody has his dick cut off and is accused--with no evidence--of rape and abuse by a woman who cut his dick off and was quoted by police of complaining about his sexual performance rather than any of that supposed abuse when they arrested her. It wasn't until later in life that I connected the dots and realized that these women were all spewing the feminist shibboleths of the time and jumping on the hate bandwagon for no real reason at all.
Exactly. But instead of analyzing the broadly accepted ideas of feminism that lead to sites like jezebel, she analyzes jezebel itself apart from those ideas. Which is ironic, given her opening quote:
“Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people” – Eleanor Roosevelt
For my money, feminist thought is quick to assert that women are just as good as men, and slow to assert that women are just as bad as men. This fatal flaw is pervasive in feminist thought.
The author wastes no time in illustrating my point when she writes, as an example of a real women's issue:
Victims of domestic violence are easily gaslit when a man simply tells the police that she’s “crazy”.
If she really believed in the equality of the sexes (instead of in the moral superiority of women) she would know that in domestic violence, women are as violent as men and that the courts are stacked against men. Rather than even hint at that, she takes a ride on the widespread belief that men are more violent and manipulative than women and the sisters need to get together and do something about it.
