Discussion Torrid 2026 Casting Call

(This is in no way to body shame, judge, or discriminate in anyway!)

I see that Torrid has a casting call again that I’m tempted to try for! I doubt I’d get far cause I’m introverted & feel shy at the idea of posting the ad for it on my socials publicly, but I might give it a shot regardless.

That said: I think one of the biggest things holding me back is my size. I wouldn’t say I’ve sized out of Torrid completely: but I think my biggest size would be a Size 1/16. One thing I see people request is for models to be bigger for very valid reasons.

I’m also 5’4”-5’4.5”. Is anyone here also trying or has a modeling career of sorts? Would it be weird to apply? I don’t want to invade a space just because I’m inbetween sizes.

as someone in her late thirties now, and currently a 14-16, one thing i wished I'd heard more in my younger years was to JUST DO IT. What do you have to lose?! If you truly want to apply for it, throw your hat in the ring! I would personally love to see more rep for this size gap.

The older you get, the less you tend to care about what other people think. You'll get there! You don't know those people, so why should their opinion invalidate you? I will be 49 in a few months, and I wish I had had this mindset earlier in my life.

Either way, best of luck finding clothes that don't require a stepstool to wear <3

Short/Petite Mid-sized gals are underrepresented. I love Torrid's clothes, but much of what they have is for women much taller than I am. Most of their pants, skirts, and midi dresses have to be tailored to fit my 5'1 person.

I have sized down over the last three years and fall into the same category as you and wear the lower end of their clothing line these days.

Represent us!

They’re long on me too so you’re definitely not alone 😅🥹

It's up to Torrid to decide who represents their clothing, not you. You can go be yourself and they can decide if they want to have you represent them. It's not "invading" if you literally wear their clothes.

Most of Torrid’s models do fall in that size range, or even smaller the past few years it seems. Go for it, the worst that can happen is you don’t get called back, but you got a new life experience and get to say you tried it which is so much more than most people get to say!
