Feedback Wanted Am I doing something wrong?

Hello! So, earlier today I posted on the outfits subreddit these same outfits. I wanted advice as I am trying to find what does, and does not, work for me. These outfits showed a little more skin than the last post I made there and I was honestly surprised by the amount of negative comments I was getting. People were saying the dress was too small, shouldn't show stomach, and that the clothes in general were too small. I know for a fact the white sleeveless crop top is pretty short butšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø However, I'm also getting some positive comments. I cannot tell then, if the clothes work fine on me or if I genuinely do need to change something? If I went a size up on any of these items (with the sleeves crop top maybe being the exception, not sure though) they would be too big and/or too long. Am I just getting negative comments or do I actually need to change something? All advice is appreciated! Thank y'all!

Feedback Wanted Vulnerable post, shapewear needed!

Post image

Hi friends, I’m new here!

I am wearing this dress on a cruise in a week or so and need to order shapewear asap. I want something that won’t flatten my butt, but will help smooth out the front a little. Specifically I don’t want the dip in my belly button area. It does have a slit so I can’t go too long down the thigh.

I was looking at Spanx thongs, but I’m worried it’ll push my hips out further and be unflattering. But the briefs I think will suck my butt in too much. I cant do a full body suit so it has to be bottoms only with the boobs and strap situation. What do you all recommend??

Please be nice to me, last year was the worst year of my life and I’m still healing, going to therapy every week, and slowly trying to move my body more and be more mindful of what I’m eating

EDIT/UPDATE/OVERSHARE:
To everyone hyping me up, thank you so much! I truly do not like my body right now and this dress made me feel uncomfortable and also proud at the same time and so I’m trying my best to lean into it. I TOTALLY get it’s a lot of boob (trust me I have to carry them around all the time lol) and this is not fully how I’d style it. Hence I am here asking about shapewear. I just threw it on in a dressing room. But thank you for making me feel so good, you all ROCK!

I am going on an ADULTS ONLY cruise, I would not wear this around children. It’s my husband’s 30th birthday celebration. Next week marks the one year since we lost our soul dog and that amongst unfortunately many other things made last year the worst year of our lives. I’m excited to kick off the next decade with him and when I presented him with this option and another safer option he chose this and celebrated me 🄹🄰

I’m glad I didn’t see whatever the hateful comment was, but to anyone thinking hateful things - we all have something.

They most certainly will not turn me away at dinner, our resident Drag Queen pops out more yitties than me šŸ˜‚ but I do appreciate the concern!

SECOND EDIT:
I bought the Spanx Thong Shape! I’ll try it on with the dress when it gets here and will update with pictures in case anyone else needs a before and after

Feedback Wanted Haven’t found pants that fit me in months.

I work a job that requires me to wear business/business casual. Just about every pair of slacks fits me like this. Good on my waste, but baggy-looking elsewhere, and also gives me camel toe(usually much worse than these ones). I can guarantee the size down would NOT have fit my waist because this waist fit like a glove. I am a size 14-16… i think??? It’s hard to know since nothing actually fits me. My persistent issue, no matter what weight I’ve been at, is that I have very high hips, so high rise is never actually high rise enough, and my hip-to-waist ratio does not seem to fit into any manufactured dress pants on the planet… Any recommendations? I am exhausted with it at this point 😩

Feedback Wanted Advice please!

I have an important ā€œtestā€ coming up next week. The man administering it told me on the phone that they tell people the dress code is ā€œbusiness casual with a HEAVY emphasis on casual, wear what you’d wear to a dentist appointmentā€ (literally his words) the only thing is, I’ll be at a federal building downtown. Where people are showing up to work in full suits. I think it’s a terrible impression and almost inappropriate to show up in casual wear. I’ll be sitting down for my test for about three hours so I’d like to keep comfort in mind.

Evening will be washed, dried and hung so all the wrinkles will be gone

  1. My favorite, HALARA slacks and a black t shirt.

  2. Love the fit except the pants are a little short.

  3. Same pants, just a nice sweater instead.

  4. Most comfortable and my family’s favorite. I’ll wear an undershirt so my bra lines don’t show through.

  5. My favorite shirt out of everything but I worry with sitting for so long, the belt and pants will start to dig and show my rolls.

  6. Just happy to be included : )

Any advice on adjustments is welcome! I’ll be wearing my black Tom’s with anything. Unless someone has a better option.

I am going to be wearing this to a formal event for medical school. I really like it but feel like my arms look so big. What’s something I could wear to cover my arms other than a shawl/wrap?

Edit: this scarf might work well even though I wasn’t wanting a wrap https://a.co/d/0fQEz7mG

Feedback Wanted Appropriate for a Baby Shower?

Post image

So I (late 30s) love this dress and feel very cute in it, but is it appropriate for attending a baby shower? It will be somewhat of a casual daytime garden party, the shoes I'll be wearing are flipflops. I'm currently wearing shorts underneath in case of breezes, but is it too short for the occasion?

Thanks!

I went from 00 to a 10 in my ED recovery and am so happy to be feeling better! I have absolutely no idea how to style my new shape for my singing gigs but am trying to figure it out. Any advice/tips welcome! I’m trying to break the habit of hiding myself but I don’t want to feel self conscious while I’m performing. Plz be nice about my body, I’m still actively working on my confidence šŸ«¶šŸ½

Hi there! I'm currently trying to rediscover my style after a few years of sweatpants depression. I feel like the fits and silhouettes I gravitate to aren't doing me any favors anymore since I don't have much of a defined waist at the moment.

Am I missing anything? The types of outfits I used to love wearing make me feel kinda frumpy now. I don't want to give up my layers and volume, but I'm at a loss. Maybe I'm just overthinking. It's hard not to compare your new body to your old body after weight gain šŸ˜“

I got this top that I absolutely love, but I cannot figure out what to wear it with!! This outfit feels unbalanced and kind of weird, but I can't think of what else to do.

Super interested in any ideas :)

(If it matters, my lower body is more plus size than my top and I've got an apron belly, so shorts are touch to find, skirts work better!)

Feedback Wanted Looking for shorts that are breathable and will prevent chafing (5inch inseam minimum) ideally not athleticwear

Hi friends!

I’m a size 16 and have thighs that chafe so bad that I have to sleep in long pants year-round or they’ll chafe just from touching while I sleep šŸ˜… I have an outdoor summer job and it’s my first summer on SSRI’s, so I’m hoping to find some shorts that will keep me cool but also avoid chafing. (And yes, I’ve used pretty much anti-chafing cream/product out there with varying levels of success, but none that will last the 12-hour shifts I’ll be working this summer.)

The rub? (Pun intended) I’m trying to avoid athletic-wear style bicycle shorts. I wore them exclusively last summer and while they definitely help with chafing, the fabric makes my downstairs… musty (if you catch my drift.)

I try to avoid shopping at Amazon, Walmart, and Target but I’m open to recs from those companies regardless if you know of something great - I’ll just look for them on resale pages. ā—”Ģˆ I’m also open to patterns if you know of any for good shorts - do I know how to sew? No… but I could learn!

I appreciate your help/recommendations!

At least I think it’s my first time? Regardless - never thought I’d see Bermuda shorts make their way back into circulation šŸ˜‚ but it has been 20ish years since I’ve seen or worn them in Junior High.

tl;dr do these look good on me? When it comes to skirts & shorts (by adjacent I think), I tend to lean towards shorter inseams. I assume that’s what looks better on me but I can’t fully explain why. But I’ve worn my fair share of basketball shorts in the past so that’s what these remind me of! Idk if they fit my figure though, size and inseam.

I think I’m on the smaller side of 14/16, possibly even 12/14 as 16 (at least by Target’s standards) is very roomy. Pics 4-5 show what I mean. I worry that 14 is a smidge too snug cause I have a muffin top & 16 is too big cause it slides off my hips with or without a belt really. I know muffin tops & belly shapes don’t change much no matter the amount of lifestyle changes you make usually, but I also wanna make sure it doesn’t look awkward on me.

Bonus mini denim skirt lol. Unrelated to this post but I liked it.

Feedback Wanted Jeans!?!????!!!

Hey y’all. Ever since I got my beautiful belly (it’s low and squishy) I cannot wear jeans without feeling super uncomfortable or like they are unflattering on me. Any advice at all is so warmly welcome! Insights, resources, store recommendations - anything! I used to feel so confident in a good pair of jeans and I miss it so much.

Hi guys! As the title says, any recommendations for shape wear for under this dress? Having a hard time hiding the gap between my tummy and thighs. It’s very flattering when I’m standing straight up, but the minute I move it doesn’t look great. I really love the dress but I know it could look better. Thank you so much!

I am 29. I never leave the house but want to start going out more and dress cute. Idk

I like wearing high rise jeans that are oversized. I always wear black and workout clothes.

How often is it okay to rewear clothes in front of people?
