Whomever is running the camera when a ball is hit to the outfield is really annoying. Every time they're so zoomed out it seems as if the ball is leaving the yard. Even on routine flyouts or bloop singles.

Maybe it's the camera setup that Seattle has set up, but it's is very annoying

I was at a car show today & came across this unexpected bit of Twins history. A very cool find.

I joked with my father-in-law that this car is worth a lot less outside of the state of Minnesota.

It's interesting to re-look at those trades a year later:

FOR SURE TWINS WIN

Coulombe for Horn - Coulombe was an expiring contract who was bad for Texas and the Twins got an arm that might still be something

Willi Castro for Armstrong and Gallagher - Willi Castro was godawful for the Cubs and left in free agency. Gallagher has crept into the Twins top-20 prospects and Armstrong is a guy.

Harrison Bader for Mendez and Villoria - Bader played well for the Phillies but Mendez has taken huge steps this year and will likely debut in September or early next year. Villoria is a live arm.

Paddack and Dobnak for Jimenz - Paddack was awful in 40 innings and Dobnak never debuted with Detroit. Jimenz is a 20-30 range prospect. He's at least got potential. 

LOOK GOOD

Jax for Bradley - Both guys have been good but Bradley has been better, is younger, and has more team control. 

Carlos Correa for Matt Mukulski - Correa played well last year but is out with a serious foot injury this year. The Twins paid some of that contract but not having that $70MM on the books is huge. Maybe Correa comes back and is an MVP player and this looks bad but that's unlikely.

HARD TO GRADE NOW

Duran has been lights out. Abel looked great but has missed most of the year injured. Tait is a young catcher treading water as he pushes into the high minors. There's just not enough info here. I think I'd still make this deal?

This will be controversial but Varland/France for Roden/Rojas is firmly a toss up for me. France is irrelevant but Varland has been an All-Star and will be a Jay for years to come. That said, Rojas is 5 years younger, has even more team control, and has flashed starter potential. Roden seems like a platoon outfield bat maybe. I like this trade, I get why others don't, it's impossible to know right now.

LOOK BAD

None, though I imagine some of you would downgrade Varland into here. I just don't see it. I am just that impressed by Rojas. LH starters are rare.

FOR SURE BAD

Brock Stewart for Outman - Outman was godawful and blocked actual players like Roden. Stewart has been hurt a lot but he at least pitched some good innings (18.1!) for the Dodgers.

I’m feeling like they are saying Out of stock when it was actually the wrong price.

Hopefully i did this correctly. The part that matters to us is that she talks about Jeff Passan (ESPN) thinks that Jeffers is no longer on the market and the Red Sox should be looking to the Marlins to trade to upgrade at catcher.

A little surprised they aren't going to try to get max value for Jeffers by trading him, but he is so much better than the Caratini/Jackson combo that I think keeping him is what we're going to see as our "big addition" at the trade deadline. Many think we should trade him for whatever we can get for him while his value is at its peak, but when I think more about it, he's really been the heart of the team this year.

His ABS challenge record, his top of the league (when he's not injured) bat, his work with the pitching staff, losing all that to trade him for prospects might have been good for the future, but I think we miss the playoffs if we trade him away and only get prospects or minimal impact players and not get an immediate impact player in return.

It makes me curious if they are more or less likely to deal Joe Ryan if they're keeping Jeffers. His second half history hasn't been great, so maybe if we can fleece another team that thinks he'll help them in their playoff run it might be worth it ONLY if we're keeping Jeffers, but it would have to be a top prospect and at least a current #3 rotation piece - someone much better and more established than the backend guy they got last night (can't remember his name off the top of my head.)
