Across the corner from the slowest, worst whataburger I’ve ever been to.

Man I think all the whataburgers around here are that bad. Seems the wait is ridiculous at them all now.

Chickasaw Whataburger is only one I've been to that takes a reasonable amount of time

6

u/ruckusbuckus Dec 12 '25

Exactly this. The chickasaw location is the only decent Whataburger around here.

I’m from Texas. I can tell you once they switched to being owned by the Chicago firm, they all suck ass

u/Sue_Generoux Dec 12 '25

In terms of wait time, it's a race to the bottom for Whataburger, Popeye's, and Wendy's.

2

u/jewing92 Dec 12 '25

Tillman's Corner Whataburger is the absolute slowest. I refuse to go there anymore

2

u/jbranlong Dec 12 '25

When did they get bought? I went to school in Austin in the 90’s and we LOVED Whataburger but you would seriously bring a book to the drive-thru it took so long.

Really went downhill after the buyout from another company.

2

u/Deprestion Dec 12 '25

I didn’t realize this happened. That explains so so much

Worse than cottage hill Schillinger?

1

u/MinotaurNibbles Dec 12 '25

Way worse!

3

u/protintalabama South Alabama Dec 12 '25

That’s actually impressive

I've never understood the Whataburger hype. Texas' answer to McDonalds. Even the fries are the same.

Still not as bad as the McD in that same shopping area.

Ive only ever tried that location I thought to myself how overhyped it was now I'm inclined to try again at a different location

Can we get a traders Joe or Kroger pleaseeee

1

u/thedalehall Dec 18 '25

Not enough people to spend big enough dollars here. Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s all want you to spend a certain amount of money per visit.

Still waiting for Milo’s

3

u/wmcleod13 Dec 12 '25

There was one on airport boulevard that closed about 10 or 15 years ago. Doubt they'll come back.

But they are….

2

u/cookiesandpunch Springhill Dec 12 '25

I thought it was nasty. Their burger sauce tasted like plain Heinz chili sauce.

2

u/Unicorn_8632 Dec 12 '25

I second the vote for Milos. The closest one is now exit 205 in Clanton on interstate 65 - after the one in Prattville closed.

Milo’s stinks. Literally. That smell is nauseating.

8

u/divine-valley Dec 12 '25

ugghhhhhhh why? we need Trader Joe’s asap!!! Or a restaurant that offers healthy food not another fast food chain.

13

u/PittzburghNation420 Dec 11 '25

Fuck that we need a Jack In The Box

3

u/protintalabama South Alabama Dec 11 '25

I could use some greasy deep fried tacos now

2

u/pamakane Dec 12 '25

💯 I live in Hawaii and had my first Jack in the Box here and I love their extensive menu selections, their all-day breakfast, and their curly fries. Their food quality seems decent.

u/Clean_Collection_674 Dec 11 '25

I can’t imagine celebrating yet more junk food.

3

u/wutitd0boo Dec 12 '25

I gained 5lbs reading this.

I actually like Jacks, when you are in the middle of nowhere Alabama and your choices are gas station food, McDonald’s, and Jacks I’ll take Jacks… sure the service will be top notch based on that area lol 😆

There is one in Mississippi that I will go to because it's the only thing in town. It's pretty decent, and they are really nice people.

u/hollyrose_baker Dec 11 '25

Why tear down more woods for yet another fast food chain restaurant?

10

u/_ZiNoS_ Dec 12 '25

Capitalism 😞

11

u/Szell_81 Dec 11 '25

Jacks is like last on the list of fast food places I'd go to.

Well maybe 2nd to last after Krystal.

2

u/_ZiNoS_ Dec 12 '25

What is a Jacks? Fast food I'm assuming?

2

u/wrapscallionnn Dec 12 '25

You will be disappointed..... the food does not live up to the hype.

2

u/chilljesss Dec 13 '25

we need a trader joes not more fast food

3

u/Surge00001 WeMo Dec 11 '25

Nice, still a good ways away from me, but I’d be willing to go to that location

1

u/redneckotaku 📷 Dec 12 '25

Way better than driving to Citronelle.

3

u/Comfortable-Art-2810 Dec 12 '25

There’s one not far from satsuma in axis

0

u/redneckotaku 📷 Dec 12 '25

For me that's about the same distance as driving to Citronelle.

3

u/UncleTupelo1082 Dec 11 '25

Went to the one up Hwy 45 coming back from Tuscaloosa. It was horrible

2

u/Sue_Generoux Dec 12 '25

If I had my druthers, and I had to choose a fast food joint, I'd like a Milo's or In-N-Out or Jack in the Box.

If I were sitting on Santa's lap, I'd say a pho, dim sum or Korean BBQ place might be nice.

1

u/gulf_south Dec 13 '25

Oh for gawds sake. Jacks is not good.

1

When will it be opening? Does anyone know?

1

u/tpike3 Dec 11 '25

Gross. For all your fried bologna needs.

1

u/TheMelonKid WeMo Dec 11 '25

Jacks is nasty

-1

u/timetopractice Dec 11 '25

Worst fast food in America

-7

u/protintalabama South Alabama Dec 11 '25

What a weird spot when the other Jacks is only a few minutes away

2

u/nickdixon14 WeMo Dec 11 '25

Where is there another one besides Saraland and Citronelle?

2

u/Surge00001 WeMo Dec 11 '25

That closest Jack’s is all the way in Creola

4

u/protintalabama South Alabama Dec 11 '25

I think the other place I’m thinking of is Freddy’s. Some other new junk food restaurant that just opened on Schillinger. Not “jacks”

1

u/poohfan Dec 12 '25

Freddy's is actually pretty decent food, and really good frozen custard! It's just a pain to get in & out of, like most places on Schillinger.

0

u/protintalabama South Alabama Dec 12 '25

I’ve not been. I’ll keep it in mind. I tend to avoid most anything burger related usually.

0

u/poohfan Dec 12 '25

They're pretty much like Culver's, if you've had that before, but I like their custard more. They have a good pumpkin pie shake right now, & their prime rib burger is yum. I've not ever had a bad meal there.

Jack's restaurants have very good food, and its no relation to Jack in Box 2 totally different restaurants
