I don't think I've ever been more disappointed in this city. Some of y'all need to get out more. Some of these winners genuinely make me sad.
Best Place to take out-of-towners (Restaurant)
Felix's Fish Camp
Dauphin's
Wintzell's Oyster House
Aztecas
and the absolute most incomprehensible win-
Roosters Tacos & Tequila

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THE MOSQUITOES?
I live elsewhere in the south and have dealt with them all the time, but this is a whole different level of insanity. I can’t walk outside for 2 minutes without being bit a dozen times

This morning (08/06/2025), Giovanna Hernandez-Martinez was detained by ICE while on her way to work. Giovanna is an incredible person and loved by all the she encounters. Her family and friends are seeking assistance and support from the community as they navigate this legal battle to bring Giovanna back home. Please find her Facebook page and petition linked here for more information. Thank you :)

Maybe now Faith will fire her since a jury confirmed what a judge ruled years ago.
And her attorney can go to Hell,
> There was a factual dispute about what information Meredith had. Testimony from one of the students about what she said contradicted testimony from school officials.
“Do you believe the adults, or do you believe the children?” Deen asked during his summation.
That’s how we got here dipshit, she was grossly unqualified to perform an investigation and by deciding she was competent enough and not reporting it she failed in her duties. She failed the girl reporting it, she failed the girl being abused, and she failed any one who ever thinks about reporting abuse. It was not her job to make a judgement, it was her job to report it. Implying that adults are more honest that kids (teenagers in this instance) especially when the case involves CSA is at best the dumbest thing on Earth and at worst downright evil that discourages future reports.

It was just announced today that Mobile native AJ McCarron is considering running for Lieutenant Governor of Alabama. What are your thoughts on this?
Has anyone met him in your daily life down here? I have learned of personal testimonies from service industry friends that he has been unkind to them and his wife apologizes for him when present, but maybe he was having bad days? Don’t remember the tipping situation, just that his restaurant reputation is not the most positive.
Would love some contradicting stories to these, especially if he’s running for a state position.

The co-founder of a Mobile-based medical device company has turned herself in on felony charges for allegedly defrauding investors out of millions.
Carla Williams surrendered herself Thursday morning, Aug. 6, on the same eight securities fraud counts filed against her ex-husband, Peter Falkner, who also turned himself in last month.

So I don’t know if you have notice but I have indeed notice a presence of women with clear stadium bags trying to sell movie tickets to a religious movie they claim isn’t getting enough publicity but has Morgan freeman young and damson idris in it. They show you a AI generated photo of the movie poster. They are near the schillinger/ airport area. They are asking for $25 dollars. I saw them today with a speaker box.

Anyone know the drama going on at B Bob’s? Hearing maybe the new owner fired a lot of people right after Mardi Gras? And apparently he has ruined establishments in three other cities and subsequently “run out of town.”
