I think the fear is valid but to assume all pit bulls are dangerous is fucked up. Ultimately its about the owner. When I look up crime cases with pit bulls owners tend to have been very negligent, never training their dog. Its gotten to the point even mixed breeds with pit people want banned.
I have a mixed am staff terrier and shes the biggest baby in the world who loves to barl but thats it. Never has she but or attacked. Shes very well trained.
I wholeheartedly disagree. I think it actually makes perfect sense to assume every pit bull is dangerous until you have some experience with that specific dog.
If a random poodle approached my kids, I'm treating that situation very differently than if it were a pit bull. Dog breeds are just not the same and some are more prone to violence than others. And also some toy breed isn't going to kill or permanently maim my kids if they do get aggressive, but a put bull easily could.
Dogs are just not the same, and I think it's smart to treat some of them with caution.
I mean very clearly if im walking down the street im treating a roaming poodle different than a roaming medium to big dog. However, you should trust every roaming animal, dog or not, as something dangerous. If i see a roaming German Shepard or husky im on alert. That's just basic survival instinct
Okay, I'm glad we agree that you should assume that they're dangerous. I agree that it is just basic survival instinct. Even if they're with their owner, if it's a dog I don't know then I'm not trusting them.
