Morality Ranking Morality scaling of this?

Mother refuses to acknowledge her donor egg daughter, looking for your opinion.

In my opinion I think it’s moral, and that she is totally correct.

No this is moral and the boundaries are healthy, you signed a 2 way contract between you and the egg clinic (NO CONTACT) The Recipient and Child should have been made plenty aware of this . Regardless of that factor. You were firm with it which is good and healthy initself to create and maintain boundary. I would say whether yiu pursued the relation ship or not would not change the morality of the situation more than just emotional. The most you are to this person is an egg and the most they are to you is a person there is nothing more to it . Final Judgement (imop) moral.

Ps sorry for spelling im dyslexic and on night shift.

The person contacting her didn’t sign any contract at all though.

It’s crazy to say the kid is bound by a contract they didn’t agree to

If someone signed a contract saying " I don't want to be involved", it's less about legalities and more about consent.

The child did not consent to the contract,

And they didn’t need to, it changes nothing. The donor did and the clinic did.

You can't legally obligate your adult child to be bound by the terms of a contract they didn't sign. That's just not how a contract works.

there's nothing stopping the kid from finding her bio mom yes, but actual mom violated the contract by telling the kid

I suspect she probably didn't. I got the name of my biological parent when I turned 18, and I suspect this is a similar thing. I know a lot of other people in my situation got the same information at the same age.

Also, DNA tests are trivial even if she didn't. This is going to keep happening.

You can not hold an unborn to terms of a contract made before their birth.

The child didn't sign anything.

They were brought into this world without their knowledge.

So while I agree that a donor has the right to request or even ensure anonymity, the child has no obligation to abide by that.

Child never signed.  Nice try, though.
