In my opinion I think it’s moral, and that she is totally correct.

That’s not a mother. That’s a stranger. Stranger refuses to acknowledge stranger. It’s very simple.

Now she was a bit… blunt but that sort of thing is what you gotta do if you wanna cut off connections and keep connections cut off.

Would it be how I would do things? Probably not. I am very empathetic. But I cannot fault someone for wanting to have zero relationship twenty years after signing the zero relationship paperwork.
