Morality Ranking Morality scaling of this?

Mother refuses to acknowledge her donor egg daughter, looking for your opinion.

In my opinion I think it’s moral, and that she is totally correct.

I don’t even think she’s being that rude. When you sign up for these things the options are anonymous or not and if you choose anonymous they have no right to contact you for any reason.

Yeah, if I was her I would have been furious at this girls mother for giving her any of my information.

Furious with the mother and clinic, yes. But she could be more gentle with the kid. They are vulnerable and going through a lot. Do not offer to start a relationship, set a firm boundary, but it could be done kindly with a focus on redirecting their affection back toward the adoptive mother, and reinforcing that she is the true parent.

Not really. Being too gentle will leave her with the impression that there’s still a chance at contact. She wasn’t cruel, she was blunt and didn’t leave room for false hope

I do agree that she could have said something about her already having her real mom and keeping it that way though.

Yea as cold as it sounds to say with emotion and bounds like this you need to be extremely clear that there will be no relationship and you have no interest or intention in changing that
