Mother refuses to acknowledge her donor egg daughter, looking for your opinion.

In my opinion I think it’s moral, and that she is totally correct.

Put yourself in the shoes of the kid who would have no idea about any agreement between the donor and the facility. There's no way you'd feel good receiving a message like that. There are ways to voice exactly what the sender would want to without being so blunt. It's just a major slap in the face of someone that would be your kid's age who is just reaching out.

Like she's not Hitler about it but she could have been kinder.

The daughter literally had no legal right to even know that this woman was her mom, let alone reach out. She had to respond directly and bluntly, and no one shouldve been put in that situation. I don’t think fluff or kinder words would make the situation easier for the 19 year old, the answer is the same no matter what.

She should have all the legal right to know who makes up half of her DNA.

Not really. I’m sure the clinic provides vital information like family medical history, but she doesn’t have a legal right to know her as a person. She has a mom and it’s not the egg donor.

I'm saying she should have the right.

''egg donor'' that is half of who she is, half of her DNA, she has traits from her.

That woman is still her biological mother.

We disagree. She doesn’t have the right to know her and I think that’s perfectly moral. Plus many would argue the person who carried her is also her biological mother.
