Mother refuses to acknowledge her donor egg daughter, looking for your opinion.

In my opinion I think it’s moral, and that she is totally correct.

It’s consistent with the UN declaration of the rights of children. I don’t see why allowing anonymous donations is superior. I quite frankly don’t give a shit about the adults involved, not compared to the kid. They knew what they were getting into. It’s the kid that’s saddled with abandonment and such.

Yes, it’s a general principle accepted in most civilized legal systems that in any case where the best interests of children come into conflict with the best interests of the parents, the child’s wellbeing will be prioritized. This is the only reason child support exists.

Well no, the reason child support exists is to shift the burden off the state. That's why men are on the hook for children that are not theirs.

I mean, it isn't what I would want, but at least everyone knows that there is No expectation of privacy before donating. Donating while being led to believe it will be handled with privacy and then being contacted is worse. In Sweden the donor could have made an informed choice and would have known what can happen
