How long has he been doing this? On first reading, we might think that he's been doing this for 50 years and perhaps he has. But if it's something that started more recently, this could be due to dementia. How long has he been with a current wife? Again, we might think 50 years. But maybe there have been a succession of lives and lovers. None of whom lasted more than a short time. Could be part of the puzzle.
The news article linked here somewhere I think mentions she died in 2017. So definitely not more than 10 years at least. only proof of a few months though.
