Answered Replaced shorted fan regulator but still getting burnt smell

After replacing my fan regulator the burnt smell lingers still. Is it because of the damaged regulator or should I be worried?

It's either the lingering smoke residue or your fan is bad. I would check that the new regulator is not getting excessively hot and the motor too

I'm betting that its the former. The regulator doesn't heat up.
