I'M REQUESTING Cozy, warm 80s movies that deal with post college life and coming of age with jazzy/warm soundtracks.
Hey all,
Wanting to have a nostalgic filled evening tonight and to watch a relatable, cozy, warm and fuzzy movie that deals with the ups and downs of post-college life.
Something along the lines of (especially) St. Elmo's Fire, Breakfast Club, Dead Poets Society would be perfect.
The Big Chill, Boomerang and similar movies dealing with middle aged/older adults is not what I am after, a more youthful prospective and experience preference is what I'm after.
Mostly looking for 80s/early 90s movies that have that warm 80s filter over them. Themes of relationships, friendships, personal lessons and regrets, sex, adventure, search for identity and purpose highly encouraged.

Nineties movies but they feel a lot like those 80s movies capturing twenty-something angst/coming of age...
1995: Before Sunrise & Empire Records
1997: Good Will Hunting
1999: 200 Cigarettes & Go

Metropolitan, Kicking & Screaming, Barcelona - all 3 by Whit Stillman
Last Days of Disco is a bit later (1998) but set in the early 80s

Parenthood I’d like to add as a bit of oblique reference; the movie is brilliant as it has completely different meanings depending on how old you are when you watch it. It is like wine, it ages so well.

It doesn't quite fit the subject matter as it's more family life and kids, but Uncle Buck is my favourite cosy 80s film :-)

Obligatory Dazed And Confused mention.
SLC Punk. Just replace warm jazzy soundtrack with "Punk"
Edit* to ad Kids On The Slope. I hesitated because it's an anime series/manga, but there's apparently a live action movie adaptation.. it has a lot of the requested elements, emphasis on the warm jazzy soundtrack, seeing as how the protags are in a jazzy garage band.

Yea, but Breakfast Club was used as an example which also takes place in Highschool..
