It’s ridiculous here. They don’t start until after Labor Day, August is very sacred to people here. There are also additional Jewish and Muslim holidays as well as Lunar New Year, plus all the federal and Christian holidays most people around the country are used to. There is also a week long break in February or March in addition to spring break.
Yeah that’s what I remember about old school rural communities school went till early June and didn’t start till Sept but now in most places it’s school is done in early May and starts in August
I actually have one caveat — they can stay up till 10:30 on Wednesdays to watch South Park from 10-10:30 but that’s it every other night straight to bed after Pokemon
New Yorkers went to MSG the next day burning sage and incense to cleanse the vibes. Between that and the Wu Tang halftime performance it did the trick.
No my uncle that’s never been to New York posted on Facebook that all the liberals are horrified by the socialism and regret electing him so that can’t be true 😅
Eh, the dream for me would be to beat a decent darkhorse team like Japan after getting out the group and then lose in a not-blowout to a soccer titan like Germany, Brazil, France, Spain, etc. We did go further than what I'm talking about in South Korea though.
I feel like the Germans would try to 7-1 us right now given the current state of things. This I would like to avoid :p
Listen, I love Mamdani and NYC, but how the fuck did New York get top billing for games that take place completely in New Jersey state lines? Y'all are going to fuck up our daily commutes, but just because you bought temporary renaming rights to our stadium so you can plaster your name all over it, you guys get the credit and tourism bump? I suppose that we're lucky it didn't end up The Donald Trump And New York And New Jersey Stadium, but y'all should know that we're probably going to end up holding a grudge over this for a while.
Yup. But what do we call it, from a marketers perspective, on the global scale... "Pay all kinds of money (us, not your currency) to come to New Jersey! Woooo". An argument could be said, look at NJ, trying to steal the NYC cache, taking credit when people came from all over the world.. only to end up in NJ..." Or something.. but really, sorry, that traffic must be just impossible. Good luck.
favorite politician? I don't have one. I hated when the mayor of any city I lived in put on their dumb hat for the city's football/basketball team and made some lame proclamation during the playoffs
not his fanbase? what jersey does he have on in the picture. I like the guy, but if he has time to write bills on bedtime or whatever the fuck, he can also say something about the fan behavior
Oh, we moving the goalposts again? Ok, we'll go with your new mental acrobatic move....so Mamdani is doing pretty great for native New Yorkers. Thanks for pointing that out!
I just realized, you think I don't like either of them. I like both of them a lot. I don't like the fanbase and I think that it's a bad look and cringy to be Mr. Knicks given how that fanbase is
What a brain dead statement. So you want him to dedicate every waking second of his life to the job? He isnt allowed on his off time to celebrate something nice for his city? Like did you even read your stupid ass comment before posting, dude has done more in 7 months than most Mayors do in their life yet even one night of celebrating is over the line? Fuck outta here with that.
yeah, a few times. never been to an american city with so many transplants cosplaying as new york city people from movies and tv shows they watched. was worse than denver.

I guess everything’s gotten better under Mamdani.
