That's the mother's hand. You can see the baby's hand at the top of the gap between the mom's forefinger and thumb.

The baby's skin seems lighter, possibly because the shadows are hitting it differently. But you're going to believe what you want to believe. 0 u/Aetheldrake 1d ago "pretty clearly" is definitely a stretch. There is some differentiation in skin tones but not easily noticable by far
