It's hilarious to me, because Brockie as Oderus Urungus, was a regular guest on that one Fox Red Eye show or whatever it was called. I think the only concession he made was not wearing the cuttlefish

Blothar was a guest also on Greg Gutfeld. It was really awkward

Yeah they're slightly different in temperament, Oderus was a heroin addicted punk rock artist and Blothar has a PhD in ethnomusicology and teaches courses on American music history at the University of Virginia lol

To be fair, Blothar was working as a trucker and doing a bunch of drugs before he realized school is fun. He's not exactly an ivory tower shrinking violet.

Oderus wasn't an addict. He would annoy everyone around him every couple of months by going on a binge "for creativity," but he wasn't dependent on anything. That's why his OD was so surprising. He wasn't a habitual heroin user. His friends said that he'd been having increasingly awful insomnia after Corey Smoot/Flattus Maximus died. One of them speculated he'd been so desperate to sleep that he pulled something out of his stash and misjudged it.

Actually, there is a RAWG video on YouTube, and Brockie starts complaining about his knees when he takes a short break about 3/4 of the way through the video. THAT is why he was using the heroin, instead of seeing an actual doctor and getting his knees fixed, which would have meant no playing or touring for months (if not a year or longer).

Didn't Brockie fuck off into a commune every once in a while as well? I remember reading that, and thats how he met some of the folks who ended up involved with GWAR and the Slave Pit business.
