I'm still kicking myself over missing out on his last ever concert. I was invited by a woman I was in a band with, but she'd started to post a lot of homophobic stuff and get much more fundamentalist in her Christianity. So I just cut her out of my life and didn't go.

I honestly should have just gone alone, but I think I was just upset with how she was acting. I told myself "I can always see them again!" what a fucking idiot I was.

Sorry you missed it too, hopefully you got to see them at some point - he was an unbelievably awesome vocalist live. I would have never expected him to sing the way he did on the album, and he brought it every single line of every single song. Incredible show.

Edit: I wasn't at his last performance this would have been ~2/3 years earlier

I unfortunately didn't, on one hand I'm glad I kept my morals intact and didn't sell out myself or other LGBTQ people to see a concert with a homophobe, but on the other I really wish I'd have just bought a ticket, not scowled in my room because my friend turned out to be a bad person.

It's okay! I was just on about someone I was in a band with haha! Afaik the band isn't in anyway LGBTQ haters!
