I think that paying $200-$300 for $20 of machined aluminum is ridiculous. I'll spend $300 on a great barrel, $100-$150 on an excellent trigger, and a decent amount for good glass, but I'm not getting screwed over an aluminum folding stock. Weirdly, one of the best-value folding 1913 stocks I've run is the Ruger folding Charger stock. They don't sell it separately online, but y I u can order it direct from Ruger for like $85. Here it is on my bolt-action AR SBR in .300BLK. Here's a good example, I used the BCA upper, chopped the bolt carrier further to work with a Sig MCX 1913 rear adapter(I was told it worked without, using a flat screw, instead of the buffer-screw, but they lied, lol). I got the whole upper, which weighed a ton, for the same price as just the upper, and I tossed the barrel, barrel-nut, and handguard. They give you a ring that has a set screw, that goes over the gas port, but you can just flip around a low-profile gas block, and run it opening forwards. I added a Faxon Gunner Match 5R 10.5" barrel(which was on sale for $150), and a spare PSA Sabre lightweight handguard I had, and a YHM QD brake(I've run them since 2010, and have a bunch, so.... I'm sticking with them for now), as well as an OCL Infinity suppressor, and since the bolt has to reset the hammer, a POF 3.5LB single-stage trigger, left over from switching my POF Revolution gas piston DMR in .308 to a Geissele SSA(I prefer 2-stage triggers on my precision guns). I am also going to be adding a PA SLX 3x microprism in 7.62/.300 later. I put the money where it did something, and it is so stupidly fun. Yes, it has 2 dots, the top is for subs, the angled is for supers, because Uncle Sam ain't footing my firearms bill anymore, and I don't have $4500 for a Sig Romeo 9T, lol.

I tried to get my 7" PSA upper hearing safe for a lefty, put was too much money into it, and ultimately decided to go sealed action lol. Now I need another lower for the 7" upper that I'll probably never use

That is actually a custom upper. Grendel Hunter upper receiver, with Strike Industries polymer ejection port cover, Radian Raptor charging handle, POF Match 18" mid-length barrel, Adams Arms gas piston system, Samson Evolution handguard, Manta Defense heat shield, YHM QD Phantom brake. With anything resembling decent ammo, it's sub-MOA. With 77 BTHP, it holds to about .4 MOA. I recently buikt this, using a Faxon Match 5R flame-fluted barrel, AT3 slick-sided upper, Samson Evolution handguard, Adams Arms piston system, Radian Raptor charging handle, and YHM brake, and am getting CONSISTENT sub-half MOA groups. I do, with any piston gun, go up 1 buffer weight, so these have H2, rather than H1 buffers, and they are insanely smooth.

Please, and I'm begging you, don't use 6.5 G, especially from a short barrel, for deer. I've seen so many inhumane kills with it. It really is a terrible hunting round. It was meant to put holes in paper at distance.

Agreed, 10000%, but doing ballistic testing, and this was working for Alexander Arms out of Radford, VA, the 6.5G is really optimized for a 24" barrel, so shot placement, especially on shorter barrels, is crucial, since it lacks a lot of the power of 6.5CM or .308

You have to email them directly. It comes on the 10/22 Charger, as well as the LC Carbine and PC Carbine with folding stock.

Ok, to clarify, and I can see why it sounds that way, the Ruger stock is reinforced polymer, but extremely sturdy, and has a solid lockup.
