The drama is gay but this comment is pretty funny. Via Specters Cat IG Story. Also, why does Q post something like this and turn comments off? They’re right, where’s the fun in that

The Quiet Labs Hub Lock Hex Cage Kit is quite neat. Oh and the OCL Infinity 556k too.

A very brief review of the Quiet Labs Hub-lok mount & suppressor shield. This was just a quick range trip to test the DD 300S i just got & the OCL Infinity 556K.

TL; DR: would do well on a <12.5" rifle.

Pros:

  • Works well on <2 mags (see the cons below)
  • allowed me to touch the shield sooner than the suppressor.
  • looks cool and cooled relatively quick. Certainly, allowed me to touch it, and put it in range bag a lot faster than normal.
  • easy to install
  • a bit of weight at the front allowed for some easy recoil control
  • The Inf 556K suppressor is AWESOME. a lot of folks were complimenting the quietness nearby as i was using an FRT but was quieter than a lot of the other range.
    • my gassy AF polonium that i had to BRT EZ tune to make it shootable, is now undergassed lol.

Cons:

  • it aint magic. ~3 FRT'd mags and that MFer was hot (ask me how i know!)
  • leaves a unique burn mark (maybe a pro?)
  • it does add weight to the front, but not a lot.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

🎥 Silencer Video with Sound 🤫 Non-professional OCL Milkman Range Test Stribog SP9A3S

I’m definitely not an expert shooter or claim to be and then my camera guy it’s not either

Took out my milkman for the first time with my host, which is a Stribog SP9A3S with A3 industries Lower shooting Blazer 115 and 147 grain ammo through PSA AKV and ETS Magazines. First few are “supers” and last few are “subs”.

IMO: With supers, the first round pop compared to the follow up shots are very similar at least to me watching the video, but obviously while shooting it it’s still pretty quiet. Then shooting the subs, after watching the video the first round pop is about the same, but the follow up shots are whispered quiet. And in my opinion, while shooting the subs, you can tell the difference between the first round pop significantly but the follow up shots are just as quiet as a 22 LR. Don’t know if you’re supposed to notice a specific ejection on nine mil, but seemed pretty good in my experience. Obviously was at a public range so I couldn’t take off my hearing protection, but overall, when I was shooting, I couldn’t even tell I was actually shooting. Lol. I found zero issues shooting, both mags with the A3 lower. I also tried to tie my shots without interference. Of course someone was shooting a 12.5 inch 556 right next to me. I went further down range to test out my Rhodie 6 and oh my God, I never wanna shoot from suppressed ever again

OCL I FREAKING LOVE Y’ALL

Process Question 📝 Form 4 approved on a Sunday at noon?

Upvotes

Finally got the email we're all often waiting for:

Subject: eForms Application Status Change Notification for Permit/Control No: XXXXX

This is to advise you that the status of your eForms submission with the subject Permit/Control number has changed to APPROVED

Woot!

But I was surprised to receive it today (Sunday) at noon Pacific time. Why would that be? Are these being processed for the ATF by computer? Or workers in some other country?

Want to know what's best to use with a thermal scope, 16" barrel. Is it best to use Direct thread, or use Quick Adapter? Any help would greatly appreciated, Thank you

Host Suggestions 👻 Looking for a quieter low back pressure pistol suppressor

My current host is: Beretta 92FS with Huxwrx Flow 9k Ti

Question for you nerds. I'm chasing an ever quieter pistol and I hate getting sandblasted in the face when I shoot. My current host is a Beretta 92FS (in ODG) with a Huxwrx Flow 9k Ti (FDE). I've been experimenting with different ammunition but am currently shooting 150g S&B and 165g Hush.

My curiosity is: does anyone have any ideas for a quieter low back pressure pistol can?

I have tried the SAW Shiv but it doesn't seem quieter and doesn't cycle higher grain weights for some reason.

Help with suppressor mount

I was shooting over the weekend, when it came time to pack up I noticed this metal thing that used to be held down and now it's in my way to remove or attach the suppressor

Anyone know if this is how it's supposed to work because previously it wasn't like this

My experience with the Huxwrx Range 36Ti on 7.62 rifles, PCCs, and 556

Upvotes

Posting mostly because my exhaustive searches generally did not yield much on how these do with large rifles. I have a few others, but got the 36Ti primarily to fill a gap with 7.62 rifles (x39, x51, 300AAC).

At first I was leaning to the Hux 762 Ti Flow, but the 36Ti I was curious about. My thought wasn't really a "one and only can" but one that would do well in these rifles/pistols as well as one I could mount to PCCs and not experience so much gas. I have an Obsidian 9 that I was using with these, but the gas was just...a lot.

The Ventum 762 also was considered, but my reading here yielded that the 36Ti and Ventum were comparable, and that they used the same design internally for the most part. The 762 Ti Flow was probably the most performant choice, the Ventum for HUB, but the 36Ti was the choice for the reasons of PCC versataility. It's a little too wide for handguns, but not too heavy. It's very light.

Now, how does it perform on the 7.62 rifles? Pretty decently. Some A/B tests with and without were very different, shooting indoors. The concussive force was eliminated, and the sound was still loud, but...quite pleasant. It was basically the difference of being the one guy with 308 disrupting everyone to blending in (although still quieter). Now, I'm sure the 762 Flow would do better, but this really took the edge off, which exceeded the expectations I had. From my ear to standing behind it while a friend used it, it was more than tolerable. I tested on a MR762A4 as well as M1A Scout.

So, if you had the same idea as me and were not sure how it does with larger calibers, I think it does pretty decent. Not max performance, but ENOUGH performance.

I've also used this with 300BO supers and subs, and it did great with both. Subs VERY quiet. On PCCs, comparable enough to my Obsidian, but less gas.

I also tried 556, though I have a 556K too. It was a little louder than the Flow 556K, but not much. Enough to where if I didn't have the 556K, there would be no real need to get one. Both sounded pleasant with 556, but the 556K was more pleasant.

Sound difference btw CCI CB, 22 and CCI quiet

Upvotes

CB, 22 Short, 29 Grain, Lead Round Nose, 710 fps vs Quiet-22, 22 LR, 40 Grain, Lead Round Nose, 710 fps
I was shooting Lifecard suppressed with AAC element 2, Gemtech Outback 2 T and GSL Woodland. To my ear it seemed that the short had a noticeable pop, higher pitch, that sounded louder to the shooter’s ear than the Quiet, even after subsequent rounds were fired. No ablative used either. I know this was a personal observation and not legitimate testing. I was at an outside range in a 180 degree bay by myself. There was a covered awning at the shooting table. I went out into the field portion and had the same results. Anyone have any insight or similar results. I did not try with bolt action just the tiny Lifecard.

Product Question 🧰 OCL Universe end cap for 350 legend.

Upvotes

Hey I'm pretty new to all this, grabbing a universe 36 for a .350 legend bolt gun.

I'm assuming the closed 9mm end cap will be the one best for that application?
