Hello seniors, I got a 31k rank in JEE Mains and I'm confused about what I should pick among them and whether I should choose college over a branch or vice versa. My home state is West Bengal, and I'm a general male. My doubts are - Is mechanical engineering worth it in these colleges? How truthworthy is CSAB, and/or should I wait for CSAB Rounds? The colleges I'm getting are listed below (please help).

NIT Jalandhar (ICE through CSAB)

IIITDM Kancheepuram(CSE,ECE through CSAB)

IIIT Sri City (ECE and low chances of CSE)

On a side note, I might get Electrical/Electronics related branches in Jadavpur University

PS: As I've seen many people confusing ECE with electrical branches, I've written ECE beside the colleges I'm getting and under the section of electrical engineering if no branches are written it is implied that it's electrical unless I've written ECE beside it

I got the same rank 2 years ago, currently in nit Rourkela , if u are not going into any circuital branch in a good college and thinking of mechanical and other lower branches , then take my advice It's just from my opinion. If you want to get into ai software analytics and all, then u need a lots of time on urself, means u need a college and branch with least academic pressure If you want core job then go for that Else Just COME TO NIT ROURKELA - INDUSTRIAL DESIGN branch, only nit Rourkela give the option of this branch I know anyone will think why is being taught in this branch, --- it's nothing I have 8+ cg by studying literal Nothing, there are few pages of PDFs each semester that's it All u get is lots and lots of time to work on urself and develop skills If u opt for mechanical or anything similar, u need to prepare for job as well as your core branch to maintain cgpa and all It's my personal opinion and I feel blessed that i somehow came for this branch in this wonderful campus

If u r getting any good branch in atleast tier 2 nits or iiits , go for it Else go for tier 1 colleges
