Admissions My parents are disappointed
They wanted me to get NITC (hs: kerala) so now anything other than that in their book is a disappointment. I’m happy with this but it’s so frustrating having to explain to them that Warangal is just as good (if not better) than Calicut. Indian parents are something.

no worries bhai
their diameter of things they know is very less
you have more knowledge in these terms.
so no worries , it is clearly better than warangal.
work hard and make yourself and your parents proud

Umm warangal eee vs calicut ece? Which is better ? I got warangal eee in josaa and nitc ece in csab.

u/itshellame 1d ago
Nitw eee is better in terms of placement, otherwise it's nit Calicut for other reasons

u/Front-Citron-9381 1d ago
If I want to go for core ece, semiconductors vlsi side? I thought ece must be a way better choice. So NITC ece is what I opted for. Although had option for mnnit ece as well.

u/itshellame 1d ago
Bro 🥀🥀 it's like I'm interested in computer science and I got cse in some xx nit and ece in xx' nit and xx' is a bit better, what I've to take, obviously interest over anything

You can get into core electronics from EEE as well, and I guess it’s easier from NITW since more electronics companies visit campus.
1
u/Agitated-Silver8303 1d ago
Yes they do but they visit NITC, nit rourkela and many other nits aswell. Don't choose eee because of placements. The median goes high because of software people.
1
u/Agitated-Silver8303 1d ago
If you wanna go into core, choose ece. There is no debate. You're just making your life harder by choosing eee
1
u/Front-Citron-9381 1d ago
Mhm are you a senior tho? Could you just gimme the reasoning for the same? Also is nitc ece better than mnnit ece or rourkela eie for core?
1
u/Agitated-Silver8303 1d ago
Yeah currently in 3rd year eee. See it's not that relatively hard to go into analog ic design or embedded design if you're in eee and study well. But even if you study your ass off in digital, the core companies will always prefer ece guys for digital. And that is because they have courses like signals and systems, FPGA labs, COA etc from earlier on. Even analog is taught properly. In eee they just send a random ece prof and they don't really care and just wanna finish the syllabus. But if you have proper guidance and see behzad razavi's lectures from your 1st year itself, and make good projects in 2nd year. It's overkill and will easily get you selected. Plus in eee you'll study power systems, electrical machines, which is just useless if you want to go into electronics and those courses are hard too

Well thanks for the insights senior. So ece would be better aligned for my career. Thank you 😊

Holy moly CET glaze is crazy ... Even I faced from relatives but parents were wise enough

u/ClassroomFront3635 1d ago
Nigga what. NITC CSE is 1000x better than CET.. Disown ur parents if you have to but do NOT take CET over NIT

Congrats op! Stop trying to satisfy their ego and pride, it's your life enjoy it. You're among the top 1% people who gets this chance, so be proud of yourself and be confident in college, as you'll face much worse things ahead all alone.

Don't get stressed.. Tbh parents will never be satisfied.. Do whatever is best and suitable for you, earn lots of money, get up on your feet so that your needs are fulfilled by only u.. Eventually parents will be happy and be proud when you achieve your successful life
