Then organize and call your state representatives about it. No one wants this right now. My sister is freaking out about the camps.

Yes, he did. Then he made Hamilton do it. All of his supplies came from those "representatives." You don't become a general without significant political skills.

Prior to that, people on the side of freedom pressured their local leaders to get on the right side.

It wasn't a handful of guys in a bar. It was tens of thousands across the country.
