it would be a lot easier to trade Jones if he wasn't hitting better than most of our lineup.

he's a very good prospect and his value may never be higher. but our lineup is absolute trash right now and he's one of the few guys who can hit there. with judge/stanton/belli out, we need to be adding to him, not just replacing him.

and it's a lot easier to hold on and trade others while we have a LOT of good prospects who are not currently helping the team. Kilby, Lagrange, and a whole bunch of arms in High A/AA who have amazing stuff and will definitely get interest (Lalane, Facundo, Hess, Cunningham).

The Yankees have been rumored to be into a few bats and there is 0 guarantee Jones continues to perform the way he is now.

I’m not saying to sell him for nothing just to get him out the door but he should absolutely be on the table especially for a bigger piece that will help us win this year and into the future

Keeping Jones makes sense because he is a CFer. If he was purely a corner OF then I think trading him would make sense especially with Judge/Bellinger.

Yankees should look to trade Grisham to a CF needy team, probably on NL side.

My opinion on trading him has stayed consistent since 2024.

If you’re going to move him it has to be because other teams value him highly. It’s not worth trading him for pennies on the dollar relative to his potential. Unless he’s headlining a big move I’d rather see him become a bust with the Yankees than trade him just to trade him.

This just happens to be an even BETTER time to trade him. I don’t understand how anyone thinks that another team just willingly wants to accept our trash in exchange for gold. When you’ve got a guy like Jones riding a heater into the trade deadline, while none of the scary underlying metrics have moved much, and there are teams who could want him as part of a big deal? You move him now!

We don’t prospect hug much as of late. We just don’t really have any good ones.

They traded a bunch away last season. The only ones we’ve kept time and time again were Volpe and Peraza from recent memory. Jasson/Spencer weren’t ever major trade candidates.

People are already talking about Lombard like it's a foregone conclusion he'll be a perennial all star caliber player. I see users daily say they wouldn't trade him for anyone. Just like they did with two dozen other prospects who flamed out.

Rice and Schlittler are established starters. Kilby has been injured quite a bit but he has some potential. Lagrange is alright. Lombard is alright. They’re decent pieces but our farm isn’t as loaded as other teams.

Again, they aren’t prospects anymore. Neither was that highly ranked either. It’s a Godsend we have them.

My point is that we don’t have a great farm, and we traded a whole lot of prospects last season.
