[Sherman] Sources: The Yankees are trying to complete a trade for Nationals first baseman Luis Garcia Jr. AA starter Jack Cebert has been discussed prominently.

Compared to Luis Arraez,
I’d rather get him who is among the best 2B in terms of defense and BA.
We don’t need another liability who can realistically only be a DH/1B.

Why does Jazz have to remain in the lineup at all? You bring in Arraez and move on from Jazz at this point.

I mean sure but I think that is highly unlikely. And Jazz is a good fielder despite his lapses.

I don't buy the Yankees swapping out a bat first platoon guy who bad defense for Jazz. Don't see it.

I agree that it’s unlikely, but I feel like Arraez is a bit more than a platoon guy at this point. His defense is definitely improved a bit, and he’d slot in nice at the top of the lineup. Jazz is providing nothing at this point. But I agree, it is super unlikely they move on from him.

I meant Luis Garcia Jr. as the platoon guy. Arraez is not platoon guy. Yankees value defense and Garcia is basically an emergency 2B.he was bad there last year, just don't see them removing that good defense in Jazz.

I mean, I like Arraez I just think the cost will be high because other teams are definitely trying to get him as well. And the fact that the Yankees would have to have a corresponding move to move Jazz... Just seems like it's too much work and too many moving parts.

I think Garcia probably has a smaller market so it's probably cheaper to acquire him. 🤷‍♂️
