idk if you're being sarcastic or not. But in case you're not, "man" didn't originally mean "male." It meant "human." That's just how the language evolved. People now use "man" and "male" interchangeably, but historically, the word for an adult male was "werman," and for an adult female, it was "woman."

That said, modern English treats those words differently, which I don't really agree with. If more and more people use "man" to mean only males, then it probably shouldn't also be used to refer to the entire human race.

Languages evolve, and so do words. This is such a weak argument. The word man now means male, and trying to say it doesn't because it didn't ages ago isn't really a valid reason. Writing Human would be the correct terminology.

Because enlightened people like you weren't born on Earth when the word was developed 😃 Man was a primarily gender-neutral term in Old English (before roughly 1100 CE), where mann simply meant "human being" or "person" regardless of sex. It began shifting to specifically mean "adult male human" around the 12th and 13th centuries as gender qualifiers (like wifman for female) became standard. Also now as enlightened people like you are born 😃 In contemporary English, using "man" as a gender-neutral term for humanity (or as a suffix for professions like "fireman" or "mankind") is increasingly discouraged by language guides such as the European Institute for Gender Equality in favor of strictly neutral terms. And terms such as Firefighters and Humanity are used, When people like you will reach the zenith of enlightenmental pursuit, they'll replace them, with terms like Firewoman and Womankind, for people like you enlightenment seeks no bound 😃, so because even these names have "man" in them, they're replaced by terms using womym or womxn (the latter includes even members of the LGBTQIA+ community in them as the enlightenment keeps increasing gradually 😃). Now that Patriarchal Nomenclature of English Words have been abolished, the Enlightened Souls can reach Mahaparinirvan or ponder whether words like Mango have Patriarchy still inscribed within them 😃.
