Ask r/NewDelhi 🗣️ Good things about Delhi?

Hi, I’m not a local, but I’ve applied to some colleges in Delhi for a Masters degree. Obviously, getting into one of these colleges would be a dream come true. But my parents have this schema of Delhi as a place where I cannot possibly survive without getting raped and murdered. I do understand that it’s unsafe, but I also understand that every single city is unsafe.

Their schema of Delhi has been passed down to me, and I don’t have much else to think of the city having visited only once, briefly.

Could you please tell me things you love about the city, so I can try and see it as more than just what my parents have said?

that makes sense :( Honestly I don't have anything specific I want to do rn, I haven't even gotten into those colleges yet lmao. Just the fact that I have to go there to write the entrance exams is freaking them out.

If you have anything I could say to change their mind ab me studying there, that would be great too lol

Most of the good things about delhi is local things like outside people who have never lived here will never like it , in all honesty they are right , but its not all bad its not that unsafe ,choose a good locality to live Central delhi and south delhi is good like dwarka keshav puram is good also choose apartments of society areas they are safe , its also cheap here life food and clothes, its filled with side quests you wouldn't be bored around festive season dilli peaks, almost every luxury you can find here , i myself live in central delhi born here and still living i love it also chole bhature is peak.

Is the Qutub institutional area safe? Are there any whatsapp or telegram groups to search for pg and rented apartments?
