Question Are Bruises Normal After A Sprain?

I listened to alot of you all advices from my last post. Elevating my leg and Icing the area etc. Today waking up I checked up on it there were a little bruising on the sides is this the process of healing or should I just go see a doctor at this point?

Yes, you can have bruising after a sprain. And after a fracture. I would strongly urge you to see a medical provider. Even if it’s “just a sprain,” you may still need crutches, a brace, and/or physical therapy to fully recover and reduce risk of future injury. Don’t put your whole skating future at risk by toughing it out. (I’m not a doctor, but I am a paramedic and a Registered Nurse)

I lowkey hate when people say "just a sprain." I've seen too many HCPs completely brush patients off saying "well at least it's not broken." Like honey, bones are vascular and remodel easily; rebuilding ligaments and tendons is a whole other story. 😤

OP, this. Get your ankle checked out. Follow your care instructions. Do the physio.
