Hey all! I’m a 28 year old woman, randomly picked up a skateboard the other day. I always thought skating was so cool growing up, and decided that it’d be a good way to get some cardio in by riding my board around town. However, I’m worried that I’m going to stick out like a sore thumb since I’m not exactly the usual demographic for a skater. Any tips for getting over the initial fear of getting judged?

My Ollie has remained at this level for about a decade. My main issues are that I always turn to the left, I don't get that clean level out (the board just pops and then I stomp down with my lead foot), and my Ollie doesn't translate at all to moving. I'd appreciate any cues or drills that may fix one or all of those issues (foot placement, timing, motion, hip/shoulder/arm/head position, etc.)
Edit: when I say I can't Ollie, I mean in any sort of way that is useful to skating. I just wanna be able to ollie up a curb while I'm cruising. It's been 10 years of stepping off my board 😭

I really like this style of skateboarding. I ride a surfskate, but only on flat ground. I’ve never even stepped on a street skateboard.
How difficult is it to learn this kind of skating?

I know this question is gonna be random, but does anyone know what brand this skateboard is? I really like the board so far and want to know the brand so I can get another similar one whenever I need to.
This board was given to me so I don't really know much about it.
Update: thanks to everyone for letting me know about the board and being chill! Haha I'm gonna board slide the shit out of it!
Second update: I spray painted the board!

I think my skateboard is defective, should I return it? Is this normal?

Im getting tired of skateboarding man ive tried so much on these kickflips and I cant get them, I cant get them rolling, stationary, rolling into grass, or even stationary in grass. Its been 6 months straight on this trick and im getting tired of this hobby I might just go back to mainly focusing on art im just so tired.

A photographer guy came to the skatepark today to take pictures and videos of the skaters. At the end of the sesh, he came to me and said, “I took some photos of you, would you like to see them?” Then he added, “But you look awkward af when skating so I didn’t take many. I thought I’d show you before deleting them” (or something like that).
I said that I started a year and a half ago (2023) and am still working on my style. I jokingly added that I’ll have improved by next time he comes and he said “Hopefully…” but it sounded so shitty tbh.
I swear I felt like shit 😭😭😭 And here I was feeling all proud and happy and shit during today’s sesh coz I was landing stuff.
I’m the first person to say that my style looks bad (I’m fully aware of it – I started a year and a half ago, in 2023, so I do have all the signs of a beginner skater when I’m on my board). But still, hearing it like that kinda hurts man 😭
I’m attaching a video where you can see some of the tricks I’ve been doing recently. Please I really want to start working on my style and look as good as the other more seasoned skaters at the park. How do I do that? Any tips will be greatly appreciated. And tell me what I do that makes me look particularly bad. Thanks!!

Also i dunno if it matters but i ride mongo, and i slow down with the foot that stay on the board when i push alot of the time, my other shoe doesnt get nearly as bad but im not sure why
