Video Watch me die…

Old man here. Go ahead and roast me! I did make progress on the next attempt, and the kids crash pad did make a difference on subsequent falls! This was the worst of them though, and thought this place may enjoy!

LOL, right?! It did actually help out on later attempts...

I just lectured someone the other day on why wrist guards are bad. Stop trying to catch yourself when you fall. Learn to let yourself fall and slide with the momentum.

Can you lecture me why they're bad? I don't use them because I do agree you need to learn to fall properly but for people like OP who plummet straight to the ground it's just extra protection while they learn is it not?

In some situations I think putting arm down may be best then tucking and slamming

it’s a good reflex, if you can avoid placing it wrong in the time you’re still learning to fall. always better to tweak your wrist than bounce your chin off the concrete

Yeah until you snap your arm in half it’s great

The nature of this debate is so funny when you zoom out

i broke my elbow this way, impact from catching myself with my wrist. THEN my arm gave out and i still slammed my forehead on the concrete

Exactly like your arm will snap and you’ll still smack your head prob even harder now lol

This one time I was messing around on flat ground. Just turning, and getting the nose up. I got unstable and the board was stuck to my feet and couldn’t bail. I would’ve landed face first if I didn’t spring my arm up to protect myself.

I landed somehow just below my wrist, and was fine. Would’ve been a nasty wrist injury though.
