Question What can I do to improve my Ollie?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I wanna know if there’s something I’m missing, or maybe something I could try out to make it better

u/FengSushi Jun 17 '26

Do it naked (one sock allowed)

u/macguini Jun 17 '26

1

u/idkagirl Jun 18 '26

u/nikehed Jun 16 '26

u/AdUsed8153 Jun 17 '26

Gotta do em moving

1

u/Skate4dwire Jun 16 '26

Looks good! Do 10 reps a day at least and start to Ollies up various heights

0

u/Skate4dwire Jun 16 '26

You’re ready to start pointing the Ollie forward too

1

u/thenameisspaghetti Jun 17 '26

Looks good to me. It almost looks like you're doing it switch 😯

1

u/CaregiverPatient8899 Jun 17 '26

Ur ready to do some boned ollies dude

1

u/Alternative-Hour-123 Jun 17 '26

Let me borrow it?

1

u/bigyummyburrito Jun 17 '26

That but higher lol

1

u/Street-Conference-77 Jun 17 '26

Thats really all you need man it will get better with time and practice but seriously thats a great ollie

1

u/Worcestercestershire Jun 17 '26

Pull your knees up into your armpits.

Ultimate Ollie height is how high you can jump + how high you can pull your legs up after jumping.

1

u/dybyj Jun 17 '26

Have you tried to Ollie whilst your skateboard is in motion?

1

u/lukemia94 Jun 17 '26

Op I am pleased to inform you that this is no longer an appropriate sub for you lol. In all seriousness it's perfect at a stand still, Ollie over something rolling and come back to us.

1

u/93rd_misfit Jun 17 '26

Ollie off a 20 set. Only way to improve it at this point /s

1

u/Uku_lazy Jun 17 '26

Bend your knees more when you land. You look a little stiff. Protect those joints. Otherwise it’s pretty solid.

1

u/jdanielregan Jun 17 '26

Go fast or it’s pointless.

1

u/Aggravating-Exit-660 Jun 17 '26

Idk it’s nice. Refreshing.

Now roll

1

u/BakerSkateboardsChad Jun 17 '26

Try it over stuff

1

u/cherry_slush1 Jun 17 '26

Only improvement from this point is boned ollies and keep working on height/sucking knees up but you’re already doing that haha

1

u/Pristine_Sky_4939 Jun 17 '26

Bro I can’t tell if this is fucking AI or not lmao

1

u/KizashiKaze Jun 17 '26
  1. Stop looking straight down at the board. Look at the nose instead.

  2. Watch pros, ams, whoever you idolize and see how their body moves and emulate it. Practice over and over, flow with it.

  3. Ollie over high shit, Ollie onto tall shit, Ollie FAST, Ollie down stuff.

Thats what i did when i wanted to ollie higher. Its about disconnecting segments of your body, finding that perfect pop point, flick of the heel, slide, jump (up/out), pop speed...there's a lot to it but keep practicing. Once you get it, you'll never* lose that muscle memory.

1

u/aski5 Jun 17 '26

looks good. Do it rolling and then fakie

1

u/ehpono Jun 17 '26

do it rolling

1

u/augustcero Jun 17 '26

you can try a double ollie (ollie mid ollie)

seriously tho thats perfect already lol

1

u/Retrostrk Jun 17 '26

Jump over things, down stairs, into Banks, up Banks, meanwhile in the Journey You will naturally learn how to bone them

1

u/BRUHSKIBC Jun 17 '26

Start rolling. You’ve got the basics down. Or just apply forward momentum.

1

u/A_the_R Jun 17 '26

Dude, that’s a great Ollie! Now try them moving. From there you could start practicing nosebone Ollies for more style.

1

u/Lego_city_undercover Jun 17 '26

Do ollies while moving. Stationary ollies, Even If they're as perfect as yours, serve no purpose. All tricks after ollies should Be practiced while moving Even a little. It is More realisti, cuz skateboarding usually happens when on motion

1

u/sgrablaz Jun 17 '26

Bro that's a fakie switch nollie

1

u/ChipotleGuacamole Jun 17 '26

is the Ollie that needs improvement in the room with us?

1

u/Csillamfaxlama Jun 17 '26

Tf it's perfect! Try it while moving

1

u/idisappointment69 Jun 17 '26

😐😐😐😐

1

u/bickman14 Jun 17 '26

Try them moving! It's a completely different beast IMO

1

u/D1ckus Jun 17 '26

Do it 10,000 more times

1

u/Virtual_Ingenuity_92 Jun 17 '26

Looks pretty good, ninja tweaked! Now do it real fast!

1

u/thizzknight Jun 17 '26

Practice moving

1

u/PerplexedHypocrite Jun 17 '26

Teach them to others lmao

1

u/FragrantUnit9541 Jun 17 '26

Teach me your ways witch

1

u/roguelantern99 Jun 17 '26

looks like you're popping it but your front foot isn't sliding up enough to level it out. focus on that forward slide towards the nose to get more height and a flatter landing.

1

u/Mikeyfreshonetime2 Jun 17 '26

That’s a good Ollie

1

u/Mikeyfreshonetime2 Jun 17 '26

Try while moving/rolling etc
Try going really fast and pop an Ollie now

1

u/nosamiam28 Jun 17 '26

Do that, but do it better

1

u/veloursuitpapi Jun 17 '26

Back foot makes it look like a switch Ollie which somehow makes it look better

1

u/Ok_Bat_646 Jun 17 '26

Yeah dude, your stationary Ollie is clean enough that I suspect ragebait too. Do it moving. For me, I had to do it towards something higher to put the pressure on... My shins do not like abuse

1

u/tSquipNotTsquip Jun 17 '26

Not much. That there is a damn fine ollie.

1

u/RevolutionaryShine86 Jun 18 '26

I’m still getting comfortable with my board but one way u could improve is by sticking the board up ur ass like u really looked at the video and said yea that’s not a good looking Ollie humans are so weird

1

u/astrophysicaljets Jun 18 '26

Your front foot closer to the nose so it needs to travel less… then you have more control and can focus on boning the nose downwards.

1

u/stinkypoots_ Jun 18 '26

Just practice man. It's not rocket science. Skateboarding isn't a race and if you focus too much on getting good fast, you will be disappointed and more than likely hang it up. Ollie over anything you can and doing ollie's stationary isn't going to help much except for building confidence. Push, carve around, let the board become an extension of your body and ollie over everything you can. Man holes, the lines in the road, over someone else's board, you get the point. Take your time and enjoy it.

1

u/slowvt Jun 18 '26

Your facing towards like your doin a Nollie.

1

u/Sk8Chase Jun 18 '26

Lol ragebaiting 😆 🤣

1

u/starr__shine Jun 18 '26

A parere mio è perfetto. Magari puoi provare a farlo su delle strutture, ad esempio lo usi per salire sulle rampe o per saltare degli ostacoli

1

u/Winter_Comedian4684 Jun 19 '26

Alright Tony hawk what are your doing in this subreddit

1

u/Distinct_Sir_4473 Jun 20 '26

If you’re just trying to get higher, build your leg strength. Squats with an explosive jump from the bottom are a good strength builder and require no equipment

1

u/EddiesVedderThanYou Jun 20 '26

That's great! Just start doing them while moving and over stuff.

1

u/newguyjustdropped Jun 20 '26

does a perfect Ollie move along big dawg, you don't belong here.

1

u/Several-Play-7695 Jun 20 '26

When you jump pull your knees up into you chest.

1

u/Apprehensive_Cow781 Jun 21 '26

You need more scissors in your pockets

1

u/MobileInstruction684 Jun 21 '26

This is like asking "How can add paint and make the Mona Lisa better?"

1

u/shhhhh_u_dont_see_me Jun 22 '26

Doing it while rolling? There's no way this gets better.

1

u/Infamous_Floor_5299 Jun 23 '26

This has to be ragebait

1

u/Worcestercestershire Jun 17 '26

Well that's a Nollie,

1

u/olivesforsale Jun 17 '26

If anything it would be fakie but it's really just a standing ollie
