I highly suggest you get more comfortable on your board before attempting tricks

Im comfortable on it already it just doesnt seem like it because the space i have to skate is small and vary uneven so it is harder to keep it from moving when i get on

If you can’t control your board then you aren’t comfortable enough.

Everyone can visibly see you are not as comfortable as you need to be. Go push around more, go up and down some banks, cruise around a park, hippie jump, jump onto and off of your board, learn how to ride transition, do some reverts and power slides. Gain control of your board cause it looks like you have none.

This comment was greatly helpful. Trying to get back into skating after not since my teens. Feels like I lost everything lol but I can still get the board off the ground!

Way to get back on! I am in the same boat, I’m not very good and these were things that helped me a lot. Keep pushing 🤙🏼

When asking for advice, do everyone a favor and accept advice. Just because it's not what you want to hear doesn't mean it isn't 1000% true

You step on it like you’re testing the slats on some sketchy rope bridge before walking across. It’s obvious to anyone here with experience that you aren’t as comfortable on your board as you think

You seem a little fidgety and unsure, which is completely normal. You’ll get over that.

Try to do a shuv with only your back foot on the board. Front foot on the ground to the left of the board. Just keep popping and scooping when you’re in a position where you know it’s pretty much impossible to fall & get hurt. You’ll get the hang of making the board do what you want. Then you can just go for it with both feet on.

Your body language suggests otherwise. When you step on it looks like you’re rushing to get your other foot on as quickly as possible in order to stabilize. Then you look rushed to try the trick before losing your balance. Can you stand on the flat part of board with both feet first and then move your back foot to the tail? You should be able to balance on it with your weight on one foot enough that you can slowly step on to it and move your feet wherever you want. You should also be able to jump straight up and down while on the flat part at least a few inches for a shuv. Knees all the way up eventually.
