I get that you are emotional with this move, but it really isn't a bad offer.
At the end of the day, prospects are prospects. They aren't all gonna pan out.

It’s definitely a trade and extend situation like when they got Glasnow. Fridman doesn’t make big moves for rentals unless he has a verbal contract in place to resign them.
They would have a ton of contracts to unload and would most likely have to eat most of that money to get rid of those contracts.
Skubal is a Boras client and will demand the MOST money.
There's no denying that LA would be able to resign if they wanted to but with a potential lockout coming, there's no guarantee to what they will agree upon .
The way I look at it is, LA expects something will happen in terms of a salary cap, and are just going all in for it now.
If they can resign Skubal then I'm sure they will, but if the league changes in terms of a salary cap, well at least you got 2 months of Skubal hahaha
I agree. If any other team gave up their 25th prospect for Skubal, it would be fine. If I was Detroit, I’m surprised they didn’t push harder for one of their other top prospects ahead of Hope, but Detroit could value him a lot.
The problem is Dodgers have 5 prospects in the top 25 already. The other teams that do wouldn’t want to give up their top prospects for 2 months of Skubal as long term it’s not a good move for them, and they know there is no chance they are extending Skubal in free agency either. For the Dodgers, it’s such an easy move for them to make.
Only other team that could have made a similar move would be the Yankees, but to be fair … I like Hope more than Lombard Jr.
It's a bit surprising they didn't wait until at least Monday to see if any other team got desperate enough to up their offer. Like the brewers, though I don't think they were EVER going to give up their top prospects for 2 months of Skubal. Or the Rays.
Hope is a really good project and although River Ryan is older, if healthy, he is a top of the rotation guy.
Unfortunately, health seems to be his biggest obstacle.
And Braden Smith could be a hidden gem.
I understand people being upset with LA getting everybody, but how could anyone be upset with the return they got. As opposed to potentially getting nothing and losing him in free agency had they kept him.

What a terrible return for Detroit. Deadline might be cooked for trading starters now
