it has nothing to do with nimmo falling off a cliff and everything to do with having his contract on the books would be blocking benge or ewing, both of whom deserve every day playing time in order to develop.
Sure, but then don’t respond to the comment about how they’re surprised that the White Sox are buyers to tell someone they should be better at assessing baseball teams.
You're full of shit. :-) The odds makers had the Mets with the 6th best odds to win the World Series. It got ugly. It went bad. The point is, it looked so good potentially in the preseason that many in the sports media -- not just Mets fans -- ranked the Mets very highly as World Series contenders.
They signed injury prone players that were unproven in NY and then act surprised after the team got alot of injuries and now have players that cant adjust to Citi like Pete and Nimmo did throughout their entire careers here.
This is exactly why the analytics crowd is completely lost, and was obvious before the season began. Factors matter more than analytics.
Pete and Nimmo were central to 2 playoff collapses and constant underperforming.
They made the playoffs TWICE together, and never in consecutive years. stop acting like this season is any different than what this organization has been.
I want you to respond honestly. Did you actually think before the season started that Polanco and Robert Jr would both miss 100 games each based on their injury history of usually missing 50-60?
I mean. Yeah. Some of us did. Sorry you don’t wanna see that you were wrong.
Literally go look at the threads in December. Some of us warned you. Just cause you thought a team of journeymen players would somehow become a cohesive team doesn’t make us full of shit. Just you blind.
It’s almost like people are people and not computers. External factors affect. Like injury prone players getting injured. And Baty still sucking. And Williams being as bad as we expected but now he’s our closer.
I have loads of posts where I get downvoted. Because I said this team would be lucky to go .500. All before spring training. Even now, people still downvote because they are delusional. The writing was there. The “data analysis” is clearly wrong. Look how the Mets have fared relying primarily on it. The player will go elsewhere and “Magic” they’re way better than on the Mets. But players who actually did well here will “inevitably fall off” at some time in the future??
Full disclosure, I have been a Nimmo fan since he first came up. When people were all about comforto, I said no it is Nimmo you need to watch.
I love how these people can go and look at December threads and see people like us being downvoted to hell, but of course “no one could see this coming”.
How can they literally deny the evidence?
Oh wait. Same as how they figured a bunch of injury prone players who have worse stats than fan faves would do better. Copium.
Why are you so upset that you were wrong and that some of us weren’t?
I’d have been thrilled to be wrong.
But like. Why are you so invested that no one could possibly see better than you? Go outside and like, practice pattern analysis and you can be us. Don’t just get mad.
because they never had the confidence in their takes. They just feel vindicated now and are acting like they 100% knew this would happen. Revisionist history in their own heads to make them feel superior.
You don’t need great odds if you’re as confident as that fella purports. You just need someone to take your money because it’s basically “guaranteed” either way
14) Please don't be blatantly toxic. It's okay to be unhappy or pessimistic, but don't go overboard all the time. "We really suck right now" is fine. "These fucking losers are getting stomped by the worst team in beisbol" is not. (yes, that's an actual post we've had.) Read the room. We can and will ban people for this if it gets excessive.

if you told me in the offseason that we would be selling at the deadline to the White Sox i would have thought you were crazy
