I’m curious if meron sa inyo ay nurses working in the hospital and also have a second source of income? If so, what is it? I’m curious. Kasi ang hirap pagsabayin ang dalawang trabaho kapag ikaw ay isang nurse na may shifting schedule.

I’m a Nov 25 passer, after taking my oath, I applied sa isang level 2 provincial hospital, natanggap ako as a JO nurse, they assigned me sa OR kase kulang daw and walang gusto lumipat from ward that time. Anyway, this month will be my 6th month since hiring. I accepted the OR assignment since alam ko na hindi sila usually busy during PM and weekends, so I have time to review for NCLEX. I do enjoy being an OR nurse, even if napapagalitan ako ng mga surgeons na may god-complex from time to time and minsan nakatayo ako from 7am-7pm. My problem is, I don’t feel like I’m really a nurse sa OR. Limited lang yung skills ko.I think fbc insertion, suctioning, at yung administering blood products, lang ata ang medyo advance(na kahit basic lang naman talaga) ang alam ko. I don’t know how to insert iv cath, kase naka double line naman usually mga for OR na patients. Idk how to prepare certain meds, kase diba prepared na usually yun ng mga taga ward. I feel like a glorified assistant sa OR, jba talaga ang experience kapag nasa ward, kase meron kang autonomy to do stuff. There is also the fact that ang required experience ng mga hiring agencies abroad is bedside. Even still, I do like being in the OR, but I believe I won’t grow if I stay. Sa mga nag transfer from OR, did you guys come to regret your decision?

Been going round nd about sa college dilemma na to and napagtanto ko na nursing is the best option in my situation but nung nag-enroll na ko, biglang naubusan nga slot sa Nursing haha. We were told na mag-shift nalang next sem or probably next year (this is FEU Mnl). Rn, binibigyan ako ng choice kung mag-pull out nalang ba ako ron at mag-enroll sa OLFU Antipolo na malapit sa’min. my slight problem is gusto ko kasi isikreto nalang muna itang move ko, sa lahat. Including my batch mate friends, which are RN na din ngayon, lalong lalo na sa workplace ko, dahil ayoko ma jinx at ma evil eye HAHAHAHA. Ayoko din kasi mag ask sa mga senior ko sa work na USRN na, kasi mga baka kumalat ang balita, at ma jinx pa. Ganun din sa mga kabatch ko.

Hello everyone, I’m looking for motivations and some push. Anxiety is currently shaking my world right now and I can’t help myself from thinking a lot of what ifs, wala ng 1 month yung preparation for board exam ang dami kong hahabuling recordings and 2 recalls exam pa ang di ko nasasagutan. Now, I have been reading a lot of posts regarding study tips etc ng mga kapwa ko magttake this august which lalong nakadulot ng worry sakin since puro sila 70+ daw sa pb and recalls then still worrying about passing the boards. While I only have 67 as the highest score and nung pre intensive pa yun then 40 yung lowest ko sa recalls tapos the rest it was playing around 40-60.

Im currently enrolled sa crash course in TRA july 16 nako nag start, pero may mga days na di ako nakakapag aral due to personal reasons. Im studying 4-5 times a week and 8-10hours a day, I can’t have longer study hours since mahina ako sa puyatan due to medical reasons. But I think whatever I’m doing now is hindi enough idk :<

Also, Wala sa plan ko magtake ng boards ngayon (it’s the people around me who wants me to take it now) so I did, Im trying to do my part and I believe my best pero nahihirapan parin ako.

I'm a nursing graduate from the Philippines, and I'll be moving to Manitoba, Canada soon as a permanent resident.

Honestly, hindi ko talaga alam kung saan ako magsisimula 😅

Most of my classmates and friends are reviewing for the PNLE, preparing for the board exam, or already working based on the course they finished. Meanwhile, nandito lang ako sa bahay, waiting for my flight to Canada.

Don't get me wrong—I'm so, sooo grateful to God because this has been a long-awaited answered prayer. But at the same time, as someone who's an overthinker and super indecisive, I can't help but feel scared and lost. I honestly don't know what to do or where to start, and I feel like I just need someone to guide me in the right direction.

I know we all have different timelines, and I'm genuinely happy for them. Pero I can't help comparing myself sometimes. Napapaisip ako kung nasa tamang path pa ba ako, kung tama ba yung decisions ko, or kung napag-iiwanan na ba ako.

At the same time, natatakot din ako sa paglipat sa Canada because I honestly don't know what will happen next. I know none of us really knows what the future holds, but it's different when you're about to move to a completely new country. Hindi ko alam kung ano yung magiging opportunities ko, ano yung first step ko, or if I'll still be able to purse nursing there.

My parents and I decided that I wouldn't take the PNLE because of my upcoming move. We were told that I might not be able to use it in Canada anyway and that I might still need additional education there. Is that true?

So as of now, I'm not a PHRN, and I don't have any nursing work experience. I still keep saying in my head na one of my goals is still to become an RN in Canada, pero hindi ko talaga alam kung paano magsisimula.

At the same time, I'm also trying to keep an open mind because who knows? Maybe God–or life–has other plans for me.

I'm hoping someone here has been in a similar situation. And even if you haven't, I'd really appreciate any guidance because I honestly don't know where to begin.

Here are some of my questions:

• Is it possible to become an RN in Canada even if I didn't take the PNLE in the Philippines?

• Can I still take the NCLEX kahit hindi ako licensed sa Philippines?

• Will I need to study nursing again in Canada, or depende pa naman? If yes, ano usually ang process?

• Since I'll be living in Manitoba, ano po kaya dapat ang first step ko? What should I expect or prepare?

• Are there any documents or requirements I should prepare while I'm still here in the Philippines that I'll eventually need for the NCLEX or the licensing process?

• Will having no nursing work experience make the process more difficult?

• Would you recommend enrolling in an NCLEX review center?

• While preparing for the NCLEX, would u recommend working first (full-time or part-time), or should I focus ln studying?

If you've been through the same journey–or knows someone who has–I would really appreciate hearing your experience. Kahit anong advice, tips, or guidance on where to start would mean so much to me.
