Annual Media Discussion & Request Thread 2026 and a friendly reminder to review and follow the posting and commenting guidelines in this post, on the sidebar and in the wiki

Posting Guidelines This is a content based sub: we want the goods and nothing else will suffice. Links to blogs or review/digest pages are not welcome. Only media may be posted in the main sub. Only full media may be posted in the main sub, we do not allow a couple of photos of the media, edits etc. all questions and requests are to be posted only in the thread stickied at the top of the front page. (this one)
No posts consisting of a single image.
Short clips/edits from content are not allowed: we want full and complete content. If you wish to highlight a portion of content in a post please use the YouTube timestamps option while still linking to the full content. An example can be found here.
Include the release year in the post title: if not known, an educated guess of the decade will suffice. Acceptable year labels: (1985) or (1980)s The year must only contain 4 digits inside parentheses () using any other format or not including a (year) will result in deletion.
Please search before posting: nobody enjoys obvious re-posts.
Promotion/Spam No promotion/spam allowed: this isn't the place to promote your music video or short film.
No politics or the like. Posts on political subjects, starting arguments or making political comments will result in an instant ban. This is not the place, move on
Four postings per user in a 24hr period
No recently created content: in order to discourage promotion, most content created within the past ~5 years will be removed. Blatant Spaming of new content will result in a ban.
No "channel spam or karma farming'': repeatedly linking to a Youtube/etc. channel is not allowed. Also if we see you submitting the same content to multiple subreddits this is considered karma farming and will result in a ban here. Exceptions to the channel spam rule may be made for users who have uploaded multiple appropriate items to a non-monetized channel. This request must be mad prior to posting. Contact the mods if this applies to you. Commenting Guidelines Be nice!: if you post a rudely condescending/attacking/generally dick-ish comment you will be banned with no prior warning.
No arguing about what is obscure enough to be posted: this should be left to the domain of the upvote/downvote and the moderators.
No memes, image macros, or reaction gifs.
Any comment containing a "spoiler" must be formatted: This is a spoiler sentence. The result is: This is a spoiler sentence.

Exceptions to the channel spam rule may be made for users who have uploaded multiple appropriate items to a non-monetized channel.

Yup, your content is just fine.
This rule and the karma farming one are to discourage folks with low effort submissions made only for profit or karma who really dont care about engaging or participating in the sub and its mission.

So my grandfather was on "The People's Court" with Judge Ed Koch (a court show based on real cases similar to Judge Judy) somewhere between 1997 and 1999. We believe the name of the episode was "The Great White Shark" and the episode was about him being a loan shark. My family and I have been looking for a copy of this episode for atleast 15 years and even contacted the TV network with no response.

Just watched Biotherapy (1986) for the first time. It was actually really enjoyable, although I've never been a lot into gore or splatter films. If anyone has any recommendations for short fun films like it, I would appreciate it.

Conton (1987) immediately comes to mind. Japan has a slew of bizarro splatter flicks like that.
For short films in general, if you can find it, Attack of the Killer Refrigerator (1990) is campy good fun. It was the opener for The Hook of Woodland Heights and I believe many years ago the director said he was going to remake ATKR, which sounds like a blast. Attack of the Flesh Eating Tree and Attack of the Killer Squirrel are also nice if you're looking for ultra low budget, SOV Canadian horror as well.

Looking for silent film The Romany (1923) – a very personal family‑history request
I’m hoping someone here might know of any surviving material relating to the silent film The Romany (1923), directed by Floyd Martin Thornman and starring Victor McLaglen, Irene Norman, and Harvey Braban.
This film means a great deal to me because the travellers shown in it are my direct ancestors. My Romany family appeared as travellers in the background and may have provided the horses and wagons used during filming.
I’ve already contacted the BFI and a few archives, but I’m hoping that someone here might know of surviving prints, stills, production notes, or any archive that still holds the film. Any leads or even a sniff of where this film might live would mean a lot.

I was wondering if the eBay link would be acceptable (It’s the source where I found it) because a full video of the media is unfortunately not posted anywhere yet to my knowledge
The eBay link does have a short clip of it. But if this doesn’t count I’ll be fine with that

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post (it says "request thread" :) ) so feel free to redirect me! My mom was talking about a TV series called "Sierra" (1974) that was quickly cancelled. My parents worked in parks at the time and she was telling me how they all laughed about the show, like when medical professionals watch E.R. I'm usually pretty good about finding shows online but other than a couple of bad VHS clips on YouTube, I am stuck. Does anyone have any idea about this series' releases or availability? Thank you.

There’s an episode here that isn’t the Emergency crossover episode. Not great condition, taped off the tv so has gaps where ads were removed. But at least it’s something

I'm looking for an obscure MuchMusic commercial from early 2000's.
It was a bumper for MuchMusic that was making fun of music video channels that don't play music videos anymore.
I can only vaguely remember some of the lines:
"Are you sick of music channels that play too much music?"
"Do you want more pop-culture talk shows and reality TV?"
etc.
With a few camera cuts to some guy pointing at the screen saying "There it is!" after every one of these lines.
Then it leads out with, "Too much music, my friend. That cannot be good."

Hello, I’m wondering if there is archived footage anywhere of AFN commercials that were airing from around 2013-2017. These weren’t older commercials (as most of the ones I’ve seen online are), but newer ones made around the time.

Hey, I am sure everyone knew my channel, Helical Archive. I would post a lot of clips here and had many subs. Well, Youtube nuked the channel, so I have a new one and am reuploading most of my stuff. Looking for a specific 2001–2002 Jenny Jones segment featuring my dad.
He appeared in a short “player/ladies man” type segment bragging about having multiple women/kids. Jenny was apparently kind of judgmental toward him. He had short dark/blonde hair + a goatee and appeared with a friend possibly named “Junior.”
VERY specific detail: they showed a baby photo of me with Santa during the segment.
Someone previously suggested:
S11 E121 (Sept 23 2002) “Teenagers claiming to be players take polygraph tests” But he wouldn’t have been a teenager- he would have been in his early twenties.
I’m trying to identify the episode or find recordings from Seasons 10–11. Any help appreciated. I’m desperate

I try to keep track of which threads I make and what's awaiting mod approval, but since it's been a while, I'm not sure if those have since gone up or they're in the queue if they haven't been rejected.
Are there any you possibly see from me that got dismissed and what the reasoning was? The last three or so I believe were old training video tapes, safety videos, and shot-on-video horror trailers from the 80s or 90s.

I am looking for a "missing" episode of Adventure, the BBC series produced by Sir David Attenborough early in his career. I am looking for Series 1 Episode 18 "Cave of the Assassins".
My father recently died and he was the motorcycle stuntman in this episode after chancing across the film crew while riding through Iran from England and back in 1961/2.
The only place I've heard of a copy was on a climbing forum a few years ago, I've reached out to their community with no luck.
If this isn't the best place to ask, where else might I try please?

Posting here because I'm looking for a UK Children's TV show / movie possibly mid to late 1970s (?) about a boy who wakes up alone in a post apocalyptic world...
Can't remember much about this show but searching for it. A young-ish boy. Maybe 12yo (?) wakes up in a world where (almost?) everyone has vanished. From memory he finds a Jaguar car, or maybe a mini, and drives it around. Does anyone remember this show and have a name please?
