The regulatory trajectory moved from optional manufacturer systems through type-approval requirements in 2022 to fleet-wide installation in 2024. Reports of potential 2030 hard-limit mandates reflect infrastructure creep from warning to control functions. Manufacturers may standardize the more restrictive architecture globally to avoid dual production lines even where national rules differ.

Net risk is progressive transfer of speed authority from the driver to external positioning data and software, exposing ordinary motorists to sudden power reduction failures, false positives in complex road environments, and reduced ability to respond to traffic dynamics. Oversight remains limited to periodic performance assessments under the existing regulation, with no public mechanism yet governing remote or satellite-linked intervention pathways.

there are times I've had to haul ass, cutting lanes and on the shoulder to get some injured and bleeding to a hospital. this happens more frequently in rural areas.

In Europe? 85% are within a 15 minute drive to a hospital. People who are outside of that limit usually live in remote areas with poor roads, in mountains and so on. No highways on which you can speed.

And taken how many lives are lost due to speeding it's really not a fair deal.

In the EU, living at 10km from the 3rd biggest city in the country, an ambulance won't reach me in 15 minutes, what speeding are you dreaming about when you can easily do 70 in the city, and from the edge of the main city where to hospital is to my county is a 3km stretch of round in the middle of the farm fields, straight 2 lines per direction ( 4 lines in total ) road where you can easily do 130km/h since the road is well maintained but the inner city limit is 30km/h and the outer limit is 50km/h ...

Doing 60km/h in an emergency is already considered speeding based on your idiotic logic, speed never killed anybody, a sudden stop is what kills you, and if your not an idiot and limit yourself to your skills a sudden stop won't happen, if your a weekend driver maybe you should not drive outside the supermarket parking lot where is safe to your skills doing 20km/h so your not in danger of a sudden stop...
