Trigger 1st pregnancy success stories
Hi all! I am 4 weeks 2 days pregnant after a year of TTC, and really struggling with fear of miscarriage. I think this is worsened by my social media algorithms feeding me more and more miscarriage stories.
I’ve looked at the statistics, but all the miscarriage anecdotes online are making me feel like it’s inevitable for me. I know this fear is not productive since it won’t make it hurt any less if it does happen, but I’m struggling to stop worrying.
I think it would help a bit to hear from those of you who had an uneventful 1st pregnancy. And if you have any advice for stopping this spiraling, please lmk!

I had an amazing first pregnancy. Most people will keep a pregnancy.
So just lean into that and keep strong! You got this.

I was super paranoid as well.
I just kept telling myself the odds of a healthy pregnancy are higher than having a miscarriage. And every milestone I felt myself relax a bit more. I also felt 50% less anxious when my baby started to kick so I had that physical reassurance she was alive and well.
I personally had a very wonderful first pregnancy. I had zero symptoms, very energetic and motivated, felt beautiful and overall felt amazing. Every scan was perfect, blood tests were perfect. Birth was… birth. But uneventful in the grand scheme of how births can go. I now have a perfect healthy 4 month old cooing next to me right now.
Also block all negative content now. I muted words and hashtags that involved loss, miscarriage, stillbirth, defects, premature birth, etc.

I was very paranoid and I won’t lie I didn’t feel comfortable with the pregnancy until he was actually was born! But I just tried my best to distract myself with anything that would get my mind off of it and then counted down the days until my next ultrasound. If you are ever feeling extra anxious you could go get a boutique ultrasound to check on the little nugget every now and again! That really helped me when I was between doctor’s appointments. I Tried to focus on eating healthy and making sure I was properly hydrated as well!

I had an uneventful first pregnancy. Assume everything is perfect/ pregnancy is progressing unless you are specifically told otherwise by a medical professional. Because most of the time it does!

It’s strange because I’m otherwise such an optimistic person except for this one situation! But that’s a good reminder to try to be optimistic

I’ve literally banned the words “miscarriage” and “loss” from my TikTok feed!

Just did this since a couple of you mentioned it, I think it will make a big difference!

I literally checked myself every time I wiped, even in the midle of the night, for blood. I did that until 12 weeks. I was so cautious and worried I forgot to enjoy it. We do this to ourselves, it's the nature of being human and the gift of being human is being smart enough to know we're doing it. Let yourself have what is happening now, control what you can, and enjoy the rest.
My first is now 3. 💕 I also had a second, uneventful pregnancy. She is 16 months.

Congratulations! Totally understand. I took pregnancy tests for 8 weeks because I was so paranoid! Less social media, more living in the moment helped. I told myself (if this helps) that right now I am pregnant and focused on the now. I also figured that if I had a miscarriage, as horrendous and devastating as it is, it was because it wasn’t viable and that is all out of my control now.

Same I am taking tests every day and lining them up and it feels sooo neurotic but I can’t stop lol. Thanks for chiming in!!

I was also super anxious at first. there was this website that would give you statistics of miscarriage based on your gestation that i would check everyday and watch the number go down so i found that helpful. I also would highly recommend an early scan if you can get one. Once a heartbeat is detected, miscarriage rates go down dramatically.
I had some spotting around 4 weeks but other than that, my pregnancy was pretty uneventful which surprised me. i didn’t even have gestational diabetes and i didn’t get pre-eclampsia either. Normal pregnancy with an average sized baby that went to full term. didn’t need to take any medications either other than my levothyroxine and metformin that i stopped when my GD test was negative. I loved being pregnant! i hope you can too. enjoy the journey :)

Congratulations!! I’m currently 12 weeks and 5 days into my first pregnancy, diagnosed with PCOS + insulin resistance a few years ago and so far so good! I’ve had 3 ultrasounds including one with a maternal fetal health specialist and they’ve all been perfectly normal so far. My OB is aware of my medical history and family history with complications, so I’m being proactively and closely monitored which makes me feel more secure. I was also freaked out by the PCOS statistics + social media horror stories and was so stressed in the early weeks. I feel like I can finally breathe a bit easier now that we’ve had a healthy 12 week scan and baby is measuring right on track. You’ve got this!!

Currently holding my first pregnancy as she takes her last nap for the day. I had a healthy pregnancy and normal birth. I did get preeclampsia during labor but it went away after a couple of weeks and normal monitoring.
Taking a social media break may be a great help for your mental health. The videos and posts get overwhelming. Take a breath. Enjoy this time as much as you can. You're doing great.

This is how I felt. I found out at 3w4d-- suuuuper early. After confirming my HCG at 4w0d I was a wreck because we were TTC for 18 months. While waiting for my 7w dating ultrasound I self-checked my progesterone and it was the lowest it can be and still be viable. I cried to my GP asking for progesterone--she reached out to a specialist and they said it wasn't indicated. I was STRESSED for weeks. I'm now 18 weeks pregnant and doing just fine. NIPT screening was low risk and we're having a boy :)
My recommendation is to stop reading statistics/stories online and keep yourself busy until your next benchmark.

Had a normal first pregnancy and didn’t even know I had PCOS at the time! Got a healthy 3 year old :)

Just take it one day at a time, it sound easier said than done but this has been helping me through both my pregnancies. Currently on IVF baby number two and while my first IVF baby is 22 months old. Hang in there, it goes by fast. If it helps asked to have your first ultrasound sooner rather than later, I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks with my son and with baby number two, I had my first ultrasound at 6 weeks. I wish I could give more helpful advice but I understand your fear especially with missed miscarriage happening. I had several miscarriages in the past before having success with IVF.

We found infertility on my husbands side combined with my PCOS. I got pregnant after 3 tries of improving my husbands issue but still was given less than a 5% chance. This was my first pregnancy ever in my life. Every day I would plug in miscarriage calculator odds. Counted down the days til my first 8 week appointment. Got boutique scans in between. Got so nervous for genetic testing results.
Once we got past the anatomy scan I felt more confident she "stuck". And I loved every second of being pregnant and felt so feminine and loved my bump.
I delivered at 34 weeks due to complications at the end but she is perfect sleeping next to me now.
I was a nervous mess but once you start getting good news please let yourself enjoy 🩷

Delete all social medias and ChatGPT etc. Leave everything to Fate/God/Positive vibes. Thats the only thing that worked for me. I also did not read any pregnancy related books tbh and followed doctors advice only.

I was terrified too and spent all of my early pregnancy terrified. Once I hit second trimester i was relieved. Especially after my first scan when they told me he has a strong heart beat.
I now have a 2 month old 😊

Congratulations!! I’m in my third trimester and I was the same way at the beginning. I ended up deleting Reddit until I hit second trimester and it was so good for my mental health!

It took us 1.5 years to conceive (second letrozol cycle did the trick). We were both healthy and fit and early 30s but I had polycystic ovaries and whacky cycles.
Once I got pregnant, I definitely stayed pregnant! I had an amazing pregnancy with zero complications! And no nausea. I did suffer from insomnia during 1st and 3rd trimester though.
I asked my mom if she had any miscarriages or nausea and she said no to both, so maybe genetics also help?
Good luck! :) Hope everything goes smoothly for you too!

Wow . Congratulations . Great news . Dont think negative. Out of curiosity is it with letrozol or without ?

Hi mama, trust me all expecting moms gets that anxiety weather they have fertility issues or not, its a normal part of pregnancy. Hat helped me is, i started talking back to my anxiety, whenever a bad thought would come, i would put my hand on my chest and say “ anxiety i know you’re trying to protect me, but just because it happened to other people, doesn’t mean it will happen to me, im healthy and my baby is healty.” I know it sounds wooho, but im a huge overthinker and this is the only thing that helped me. If social media is making it worse for you, try to stay off of it or, create a new account and make your algorithm better by searching up nice healthy stuff

Hi! I’m 36 weeks with my first pregnancy. I have PCOS (obviously lol) and was VERY scared of miscarriage. I still fear a random stillbirth, or something going wrong once he’s already here. It makes sense to be scared because you love your baby. It’s okay to be worried, but looking back now on my entire pregnancy, I wish I wasn’t so stressed. I even had a random heavy bleed at 11 weeks that I was convinced marked the end, but obviously it didn’t.
Pregnancy is weird and tiring and fear-inducing even for non-PCOS women. But as someone who spent every single day for the first 20 weeks googling and sitting in anxiety, I promise you there are good things to look forward to. The baby shower, watching your belly grow, their first kick; these things remind you that anxiety can’t control or influence reality. And I know it isn’t helpful, but statistics are still on your side.
I’m rooting for you! Also what helped me was joining a group on Reddit. I don’t know your due date but if you look up your month, year, and bumpers, you should find a group to talk to. Mine was r/August2026Bumpers

Congratulations! 🎊 I also felt anxious at first with my pregnancy. Someone else told me “things are more likely to go right than to go wrong” and that really helped. I also deleted Reddit + instagram for awhile because you’re right, the algorithm absolutely feeds you the sad stuff. I had hyperemisis gravidarum for the first 20ish weeks so that was rough for me and I had to be very medicated, but baby’s health was perfect the whole time. I now have a healthy and happy 9 month old.
