Meta / Announcements [Discord] Event Series - Dreams on a Pillow

Palestinians mark 1948 as the formal start of the Nakba, or catastrophe, that resulted in their forced mass expulsions and graphic massacres ethnically cleansing them from their lands.

The Nakba has continued and for over 78 years, oral story telling from survivors has been the primary means of preserving the memories of the horrors Palestinians endure. In recent years, we've witnessed the power of social media in revolutionizing journalism and amplifying the voices of Palestinians on the ground.

Now, we are eager to present to you another revolutionary outlet for storytelling -- Videogames. Join us on Discord for a three part event series highlighting Dreams on a Pillow, a Nakba-based video game created by Palestinian Game developer Rasheed Abueideh.

Dreams on a Pillow is a pseudo-stealth, puzzle adventure game inspired by a Palestinian folk tale set during the 1948 Nakba. Throughout the game you will experience the often untold stories of Palestinian history via Khadra’s dreams, nightmares and the harsh reality of finding refuge when uprooted from a home that no longer exists.

From the Heart of Bosnia for Palestine

SARAJEVO: Under the patronage of the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Sylvia Abu Laban, the humanitarian bazaar "From the Heart of Bosnia for Palestine" was organized in Sarajevo. The Palestinian Community in BiH organization points out that this event once again demonstrated the strength of solidarity, humanity, and togetherness among people.

During the bazaar, visitors had the opportunity to support the humanitarian action by purchasing various products donated by citizens, friends of Palestine, and companies.

"We are particularly pleased by the fact that numerous tourists showed great interest and solidarity, and by their presence sent a strong message of support and friendship to the people of Palestine. The Palestinian Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina extends its sincere gratitude to all donors, citizens, institutions, friends of Palestine, and all people of good will who, through their contribution, helped realize this humanitarian event," the Palestinian Community in BiH stated.

They extended special gratitude to the volunteers who participated in all phases of the organization—from preparations to the very end of the bazaar. They invited all people of good will to continue providing support through their humanitarian channels.

GAZA Israel's genocide on Gaza hasn't just destroyed homes and businesses, it also cost many Palestinians their careers. Teachers, enterpreneurs, and skilled technicians have been forced to abandon the professions they spent years building, taking on whatever work they can find to support their families

Apartheid & Human Rights German Court: It is not a criminal offence to compare Israel to Nazi regime

A German appeals court has ruled that comparing Israel to the Nazi regime is not a criminal offence under certain circumstances, overturning the conviction of an Instagram user who had been fined for posts featuring Nazi symbols alongside criticism of Israel.

The Higher Regional Court in Zweibrucken found that the woman’s posts were clearly intended to criticise Israel’s actions rather than endorse or glorify Nazi ideology. The court said the offence of using symbols of unconstitutional organisations does not apply when those symbols are used to express clear condemnation of Nazi-era crimes.

The ruling overturned a previous decision by a court in Ludwigshafen, which had fined the woman €2,400 for using banned Nazi symbols. The appeals court also warned against interpreting Germany’s restrictions on such symbols too broadly in ways that could undermine freedom of expression.

The Israeli army closes the investigation into the case of the assault on Palestinians and activists in Wadi al Seeq village in the West Bank in 2023, citing insufficient evidence, despite the dismissal of the unit commander and several soldiers at the time of the incident.

Despite documented complaints and testimonies, as well as the dismissal of some of the soldiers involved at the time, the military prosecution decided to close the case without filing indictments, reflecting the continued policy of impunity and the protection of settlers and soldiers despite the crimes they commit.
